My husband and I are starting our new work out and health food craze.

So my husband and I are starting our road to fitness starting this morning. he has different fitness goals than i do so he will start his own journal.

My stats as of today
I am 25
5'9" tall
215 lbs
and I wear a size 16
I was a size 5 all through out high school.
My goal weight 145
my goal size is a size 7 or 9

My daily caloric intake is no more than 1650 cals/day
my daily fat is no more than 35 grams
How the hell do I eat 215 grams of protein with out going over my fat and caloric intake??

My work outs will consist of some light weight training and then a heavy walking cardio working my way up to 3 miles a day on the tread mill.

What are some good meals that you guys enjoy? preferably beef or pork. maybe a chicken meal or two as I am not a huge fan of chicken but like a few chicken meals.

During weight loss, I think you can go as low as 1g of protein per LEAN BODY MASS, LBM. LBM is your bodyweight - the body fat. Personally, I get my protein from protein shake (has about 24g per shake at 130 calories) or Low fat cottage cheese (14g per 90 calorie). Most lowfat dairy product or eggs w/o the yolk should do it.

Your BMI is roughly 31, and bodyfat is roughly 40%. This is just base on your height and weight so I might be off. Btw, I am assuming that you are female and not active or atheltic to get the BF% from bmi.
LBM = 215 lbs (1-0.4) = 129 lbs.

Thereby, you can get away with consuming about 130g of protein per day.

Good luck with your goals and remember that a diet should not be short-term but a lifestyle change. Find a diet that you can live with and use excercise to help burn off the extra calorie. "Reward" meals are recommended every so often, read that on the weight loss stickies.

Good luck with the plan. It's great you both are goin' for it. My suggestion is that you find some part of the workout you can do together. Take a class something for a support system. Having a training partner is great in the beginning for motivating each other on low energy days. Spot each other in some weight training exercises. Plan walk/run outings in different locations to make it interesting.
Also 3 miles on a tread mill will bore you to death. More weight training!! Ask more questions. I learn sooo much from this forum.

Thank you for encouraging my wife. She is a great person who just needs that extra confidence booster. But I think we really are going to get it done this time! We have tried to get going on this for the last year and never really got past a couple of weeks but this time we are taking it to the end.
So weight training will burn more than the cardio will?
