My Diary

I have not been on the site for probably a year and unfortunately in that time I have gained more weight and had quite an adventure. I have been diagnosed as having PCOS (ovarian cysts that is some how related to how I burn calories and food) and that also comes with pain.

But, for the positive I started a 4 week fitness bootcamp that meets 3x a week in a local park so I am committed at this point to utilize that to help me get back into holding myself accountable to working out! I have also been pretty good about tracking calories on my loseit app for IPOD touch. Additionally, I decided last week to become a vegetarian again because I got grossed out by something so now and working on finding healthy proteins and meals without letting my disgust of animal proteins to be a carb fest.

I hope these plans work out and am motivated now and hope to stay that way to get healthy and not just look good!

I admire your perseverance! I guess I'll be the first person to welcome you back and to wish you a hearty good luck.

If you need any help at all with the whole omnivore to vegetarian transition, I'd be more than happy to help. It can be extremely difficult and disastrous to get wrong if you're not sure what you're doing.

Cheers!

thanks, I've been a vegetarian before... but was about 5 years ago so got lazy with the convenience of poultry everywhere.

I am very proud to announce that I appear to have lost 2 pounds this week! I know, seems so small... but I was becoming frustrated about being sore and tired all the time and seeing what appeared to be no results. I just got home from the end of my 2nd week at fitness bootcamp. I am not sure about signing up for another 4 week session when this ends, but it sure does kick my butt and motivate me more than I can do for myself. My gym has a cycle class at the same time so I am hoping I can attend that for the 4 weeks of the next session then compare my feelings about both programs. Benefit is classes at the gym save me about $100 when compared to the bootcamp fees.

I have also been tracking my calories everyday and have not once gone above by 1600 daily allowance. I am wondering if I should take the calories lower? I definitely need to pay closer attention to what I am consuming because carbs appear to be a lot higher level then protein... but it gets tricky as I work a kinda wacky schedule and cannot always plan on eating regularly, sometimes just need the quick snacks to keep me going.
