My Diary

Hi All,

So, this is my weight loss diary. I guess i should start by tell you all a little about myself. My name is Alex and i live in Chicago. I'm 18 and about 6"0 and 291lbs. I've been overweight pretty much my entire life. Though I've never felt any different than anyone else. I'm no stranger to exercise, I played football all 4 years in high school. I bench nearly 300, squat more than 400, and run a sub 10 minute mile. All things i'm extremely proud of. My main issue is with my diet. I eat way to much and since what i mostly eat is fast food any weight loss accomplished by working out is negated.

What prompted me wanting to become healthier is that i am going to Western Michigan University, in August of 2009 and would like to shed this weight. College is a time to meet new people, to really become yourself. I think most people's first impression will be more about my weight than who i am.

I figure i have 13 months to lose 91lbs. Which is 7lbs a month. I had my old football coach write up a work out schedule for me. It includes 3 days of Weight Training and 3 days of ab work and cardio. I only have classes at community college 2 days a week and only work a max of 22 hours so going to the gym 6 times a week shouldn't be that hard for me. I also plan to cut out any fast food and soda while trying to cut down on the portions i eat.

Any support/suggestions would be awesome, Pictures coming soon. thanks!

Alex....

When I was in football it was eat eat eat and now that you're not shoving 300 pound guys around you feel you don't need the extra weight. I have been fighting it ever since. You have the support of your coach getting it off so that's a good thing.......

Best wishes
Hillbilly

Just finished the first day of my new much healthier life. Today for breakfast i had a bowl of raisin bran, for lunch a turkey sandwich, and grilled chicken for dinner. And as for working out i did...

Dumbbell Bench Press - 4 sets of 8, 8, 6, 6

Incline Bench Press - 4 sets of 8, 8, 6, 6

Cable Crossovers - 4 sets of 8

Close Grip Bench Press - 3 sets of 8

Lying Triceps Extension - 3 sets of 8

Standing Triceps Extension - 3 sets of 8

Cable Triceps Extension – 3 sets of 8

Tired as hell, but i feel pretty good. 3.5 Pounds every 2 weeks and i should reach my goal.

Tired as hell, but i feel pretty good.

As weird as it may be, I love feeling tired or sore after a work out. Makes it feel worthwhile. Like you worked your ass off.

Your food for yesterday sounds almost identical to what mine usually is.

Well, any way...hope you have another good day. I think I saw that you'll be doing some sort of cardio and abs today? Or maybe I'm making that up. haha Oh well...good luck!

Going to the gym 5x/6x a week takes dedication but it is so worth it.

I too love the feeling of exhaustion after a good workout! Stick with it and I'm sure you can meet your goal. :)
