Hello everyone. I'm Nessa and I'm new here. I'm hoping to find some buddies to keep me motivated. That's the hardest part for me. I do okay for a week or two then I start making excuses to not go to the gym.

I've browsed through and some of the transformations are unbelievable. Congrats to everyone!

My before/current picture is below. My main problem areas are my arms and my stomach. I've got that god awful lower abdominal pooch. I'm sick of rolls.

Nessa,

Welcome, and I want you to know, you look beautiful in your current pic. But if you wish to lose more, tell us exactly what your diet looks like, and how do you want your exercise plan to look like.

Also, starting a diary (or journal!!!) can be great motivation as well. Write down your thoughts and your accomplishments. Of course, one of us will always pop in and give you helpful words and compliments.

Thanks for the compliment, soontobeacop. I've got a lil chub on me. I must hide the extra weight well. haha. :p

DeepGreen, I'm a vegetarian. So before I really started watching what I eat, I mostly consumed carbs. Pastas, rice, and all that good stuff. I LOVE italian food. Mmm Olive Garden. I heard certain carbs tend to store mostly in the stomach area. Well, for the last week I've been cutting the carbs big time and eating smaller portions. Mostly salads, veggies, fresh fruit, crackers and cheese, and soy burgers. I've been only been drinking water. And obviously trying to work my butt off in the gym. I want to average at least 5-6 days a week, usually 1.5-2 hours each visit. Sometimes I will go twice a day. Any input or advice you may have will be greatly appreciated. :)

Hey Nessa :) you look great in your picture, but if you do want to work on your body, you've come to the right place for support and advice.

One thing that you will get a lot here is the method of counting calories. Most weight loss comes through diet, not exercise. There really isnt a way to tone particular body parts (i.e. stomach pooch), you just have to lose the layers of fat covering that nice toned tummy :) . If you cut calories to say, 1800-2000 a day (this sounds like a lot, but its not, especially with italian food) but if you do cut calories to a reasonable number like this, you should be able to slowly lose the weight in a way that is sustainable.

I am a vegetarian too :) what have you been eating instead of the carbs?

You should start a diary on here to keep track of your food and exercise and also just to say how your day is going. You will get lots of information and support :)
