My before and after journey

Hi my name is Linda *waves hello*

Leigh P. Told me this would be a good place to come to keep me on track and encouraged and to share my story with others. Everyone here seems real nice:)

My journey started along time ago when I was a child. I have always been a little overweight. I also was pretty active, I just never ate very well. When I got to college it just got worse. I ate out all the time and study stress and food become my friends. I was always one of those girls that was the "friend" of all the guys. You know great personality but no girlfriend interest. I got my heart broken a lot and from there I just ate more. At my highest weight I was 5'7 and 220. When I was 24 I started working so much that I couldn't eat all the time so I lost some weight from that. I got down to 179 and stayed there. At 28 I decided I wanted to change so I went on weight watchers. I got down to 154 really quickly but was hungry all the time and just couldn't stand the low calories so I started eating again and re-gained all my weight back to 170. I tried any and every infomercial product, diet pills and nothing was working. I was eating so little and when I would eat anything that used to be normal I would gain more weight. At some point during it all I just killed my metabolism. I got back up to 182.

One day I went online to WorldFitness.com. I started reading and sent theleip (Leigh P. on here) some private messages asking for some help. I sought her out because she seemed smart and plus lived in the same area. After a point we decided she was going to train me. I had a trainer once before but it was short lived and just basically how to use the machines. Leigh was really a life saver and I owe this all to her.

I started off a little slow, repairing my metabolism, eating more meals, eating more calories. I basically walked and did some light weight training. I lost a few pounds here and there. Then after a while, well she was pretty mean to me;) But I loved it, I really did. I started working really hard. Then bad news came for my weight loss when I had to go to Boston for 3 months to set up a store there. If you have ever been to Boston they have some of the best food in the world there.
I also had to stay in a hotel the whole time. I had a small gym and internet access. Believe it or not we made the most of it and I kept losing weight. I started learning more about foods and meals. I started to really get into cooking. I never knew how good healthy food could be. It was then I decided I wanted to go back to school to learn to be a chef. I also am taking some wonderful nutrition classes.

When I came back home I was down to 145. It has taken 8 more weeks but I am now 136 and have never felt better in my entire life. I met a wonderful man in Boston and brought him home with me. We are getting married in the spring, he is the arms in my engagement photos;)

That is my story! Now my goal is to keep it off and live a healthy lifestyle.

Thank you for reading. I may take Leigh's advice and start a journal. She also said people here love recipes and I have LOTS of them.

A trainer is nothing without a strong and motivated client, but thank you so much for the kind words.

And welcome aboard!

Your story's really inspiring. It's great that you're becoming a chef! I'll ask for your advice sometimes! :D
You look gorgeous in that pic!
