My 3-week plan...is this crazy?

In a month or so I'm going to Africa for 3 weeks..some of you may remember me posting about this a while ago. Basically this will be 3 weeks of no gym, no extra protein or piles of food, just the occasional swim.

The plan i'm proposing is this..for about the week before i go to do an intensive full-body workout every day and eat as much as i can get my hands on.

After the impact of doing this i figure my body will have 3 weeks of recovery and growth time and will have the good kick-start of high testosterone from the intensity of the programme and lots of work to do repairing/growing the muscles.

What do you think?

eh, a three week lay off isnt so bad unless ur competitive with a sport or body building...pick up "The Naked Warrior" By Pavel Tsatsouline, its a book on working out without equipment, u'll probably find your stronger after doing Naked Warrior exercises. so maybe going on a three week training bender wouldnt be good, If i were u i would stick to the program..and if i were u, u would be me

have a good trip

not a good idea man.

You're pretty much saying 'For the last week before i go to africa i'm going to overtrain my muscles so much, that when i get to africa they won't regrow because i dont have piles of food or extra protein'.

Its simply over training .. that gets you no where but possibly behind.
And the fact that you're telling us you won't have alot of food or extra protein means they won't recover properly.

3 weeks off is fine if you continue a good diet, then your muscles are rebuilding.
Maybe do full body workouts every SECOND day for that week, that would make more sense.

Yeah. 3 weeks off is nothing. You'll retain your strength and growth - the thing you're looking at losing the most is conditioning - so you may have to take a couple weeks to get back into the swing of things.

I took 5 weeks off, and haven't really lost any muscle. I've lost a bit of cardio endurance though. It will come back though :)

Ive just had two weeks off with shoulder pains. Got in the gym last night and found no loss in strenght or size. Many weight training instructors recomend you only weight train 3 in 4 weeks, but they wont tell you that cos they dont want you to stop using the gym.

or you could try lifting suitcases!!!!
