Mrs Bear's Diary

Oh Mrs. B - You're right, tomorrow is another day :D One binge day in just at a fortnight is NOT bad at all!

When you look at not just the day, but the overall picture, that's when you can see how much a difference you've made!

Thanks Val, Tina and M2M. I'm feeling okay about it, I just feel a bit crappy this morning because of the salt and the sugar. I will be drinking lots of water and can't wait to get it all out of my system.

I have a confession to all the FSDers (and I will be putting this on that thread). I feel like having a week off and being able to weigh when I want. I had decided to weigh again this morning because I knew my IBS was affecting it, and I normally get some relief after a good nights sleep (4am is not a good time for me). I knew I had had 2g of sodium (4g of salt) in the snack-a-jacks alone yesterday, so my sodium levels were probably up (I normally have close to no sodium apart from naturally occurring). So I weighed this morning after some relief from my IBS and I was 12st2lbs. Thats actually 1lb down from Friday!! I am not going to change my ticker until Friday, but it is just comforting to know that my feeling so bloated was affecting my weight, and that I might make the July 10lb challenge after all.

Okay, I have betterware catalogues to deliver this morning, I may do a few phone books (I have a week to do 500) and then I am going for another bike ride. We had rain last night and it is a lot cooler this morning (yay!!)

I don't know, waffle, waffle, waffle ...... feel free to skim read :D

Till later, peeps

One Hundred and Eigh-Tee!!!! I did 18 miles on my bike again and I am really chuffed. Honestly, it is only moving my ticker that inspires me to do my bike rides :D My 180 miles is ten lots of what I am cycling at the moment, so my next aim is to double my total in the next three weeks. That will be two weeks going out three times and one week going out four. I think I can do this, and I am going to give it my best shot ;)

Foodwise, I had 2 dates, an apple and two cheese miniatures for breaky, 3 cheese miniatures as a snack later on (it stops my tummy from burning) and now I have had a delicious salad. I had lettuce, tomato, sweetcorn, mixed beans, grated carrot, baby beetroot, an avocado (mmmmm), some wholegrain rice and some 'Good' salad dressing. It is good because it is made out of hemp oil and has healthy seeds to sprinkle on it, but its not particularly low cal. My total for the day is 1445 so far. I may have something later on, depending on if I feel hungry and aslong as it is not too close to bedtime ;)

Pennies-wise, I have drunk 9 and widdled 4 :D

Thanks for dropping by, laters peeps

Thanks Mal :)

I had some cheese and another couple of dates, oh and some cherry tomatoes, all at about 6:30. I'm glad I did because its about 10pm now (nearly bedtime) and I almost am starting to feel hungry again. Total cals today 1870, which is good for a day with a bike ride. Healthy foods too ;)

On a different subject, I have just watched 'Hard Candy'. I don't know if anyone has seen it, and I shall try not to spoil it for anyone, but basically I have just watched a paedophile being tortured. It was a bit harrowing but in a good way, if thats possible. I didn't watch 'The Woodsman' because I thought it would be too disturbing, but I would recommend 'Hard Candy'. It was very well made and the performances were fantastic.

Ah, well, altogether not a bad weekend, especially as that is when I am most likely to be tempted. Hope everyone else had a good weekend.

Toodles peeps

That's ok on the binge.. I plan on having one myself this Sunday and it should be around the same calories you had.. I just planned on having only fruit and veggie salads for the next 3 days to cancel its existence :p

You are doing superb! Proud of you lass :D

Sday~

Thanks ever so much you guys :) I'm afraid I overdid it again today  I started off okay but felt really tired after work, but instead of having a nap, I ate instead. The problem is the ice lollies I have been having. The sugar is sending my blood sugar level all out of whack. I am going to try again tomorrow to not have any sugar, and hopefully I can improve.

Oh, and Sday, I tried the wheat free pittas from tesco and they were actually nice  They are the only wheat free bread that I have ever actually enjoyed, so I will be having them from now on ;)

okay, clean slate, start again tomorrow ....

Mrs. Bear, I think the last time I popped round for a visit you had cycled a "gross".....now it's 180? You are really moving girl!!! Doing awesome!!!

And why must you temp me with stories from the Waitrose produce department when I am 4000 miles away? Ohhhhhh, the sorrow!!!!

Have a great weekend.

Hi, Mrs. Bear. I love watching your ticker. I need to get an exercise ticker of some sort. Sounds like you doing well. I am looking forward to eating fudge tomorrow. We have to incorporate these things into our plan or we will go crazy. Have a great day tomorrow.

Hey Scarlett, my ticker is at 200 miles now .... Woot!!!! I did 20 miles today. The thing is, that ticker is the one thing that I feel fully in control of. You can do everything right, diet ... exercise ... water ..... everything!!! and still not have the desired effect on a weight ticker. With this one I know that if I do the miles, it is gonna move ;)

Hey Pineola, you're right .... we cannot get an all or nothing complex because diets that are too strict are more likely to fail.

Okay, I have been feeling very tired lately and I do not think that I have been eating enough. Also, after reading Northernmomof3's story AGAIN (I go there for motivation all the time ;) ) I decided that I want to work out 6 days a week. I have decided to do three 20 mile bike rides a week, do my cher workout (25 mins of high intensity aerobics) and weight training on 3 days, then on Sunday have a rest day. I am also planning to eat 2000 calories a day as well, I am always worried that I am not eating enough, and when I start to feel drained because of it I end up binging.

I am also going to try to set myself some ground rules ....

1. No snacking cheese
2. Plan pretty much what I am going to eat the day before (this can change a little)
3. If I am tired have a nap
4. If I am hot have a cool bath/shower
5. Get up earlier to give myself more time to eat breakfast
6. Eat more slowly and calmly
7. Get to bed between 8-9pm
8. Limit salt and NO sugar!!
9. Less fruit, more veg
10. Have a proper rest on a Sunday

I am going to print these out and pin them up to help remind myself. Not doing these things all lead to bad behaviour. I always eat too much cheese if I have it in, if I don't plan I make bad choices, I eat too much when tired, I eat ice lollies when hot, I eat too quickly especially when I don't give myself enough time, sugar ALWAYS leads to a binge, too much fruit makes me feel too acidic, I am missing out on my greens and finally, I should not feel worse on a Monday than I do afterwork an a Saturday ..... everyone needs a rest ;)

Well, thanks for sitting through my ramblings .... I wrote it more to get my mind straight and to help me plan what I am going to do.

Thanks for stopping by guys ..... toodles

Some of those aren't issues for me, but most of those are good rules for all of us. I think its great that you know yourself well enough to know where the danger is.

Hey Cannon, I guess I have been trying to diet and control my eating for so long now, that I know all the pitfalls ..... now its just a matter of avoiding them ;)

Hey Twinmom, once again Math to the rescue!! :D I hadn't even thought about it really but, wow, over a third of the way there!!

Good day so far, I am currently having lunch of steamed salmon and micro-rice (1/3 of the packet ;) ) then it is back out to do the last little bit of my delivery and then I am hoping to do some aerobics today. Also I have to clean the house, I have my mother-in-law coming over tomorrow, so I like the house to look presentable.

Later peeps

Food for today ......

Porridge for breaky
2 dates and 2 mini babybels as snacks
Salmon and rice for lunch
1 chicken thigh w/out skin and an apple after workout
Porridge for dinner

I have had 1800 calories so far today, but I had decided to up this to 2000 a day due to the fact that I am going to be working out nearly every day. I am off to the supermarket in a bit, and I will see if I fancy a little something later.

I did 40 minutes of aerobics today, and it felt really good. Normally when I do aerobics after a big gap, it is really hard work and I ache. I think because I have already lost a chunk of weight and have been cycling, I was able to really push myself straight away.

Thanks again to everyone who drops in with encouragement, and wades through all my waffle :D

Toodles peeps

Working out 6 days a week is great goal to set for yourself. I've decided to do the same thing and it is helping to make me more accountable to myself. It's hard to skip a day when you're exercising every day! Great job with the cycling!

Hey Mrs. Bear I was wondering how well cycling worked for you. Would you say that it is a good overall workout?

Hey HF. I have been thinking about this lately as I have been building up my mileage quite quickly. I was worried that I was going to end up having to go out for 2-3 hours just to get a good work out. It does get my heart rate up, gets me out of breath, it works my legs and even tones my arms and back because I am supporting my upper body on the handle bars. But I do feel like something is missing. It isn't that hard work on the flat (unless going into the wind) because you aren't supporting your own weight, and my mid section doesn't get any work at all. That is why I have decided to do three cycles a week, and 3 lots of aerobics. There is something about throwing your own body weight around that seems a more intense work out. But I would definitely recommend cycling as part of a fitness regime. In my opinion it gives you a workout that is not as much of a strain on your body, whilst still being aerobic.
