motivation

how does everyone motivate themselves? Some days i really dont feel like getting up to run or do exercises, how do you motivate yourself?

An issue of Men's Health magazine had an interview with Matthew McConaughey , and he was talking about his exercise workout, that involved a lot of running. He said his best advice was simply "put your shoes on". If you're going in the morning, roll out of bed into your shoes. If you're going later on, do whatever you have to to automatically get your shoes on. If shoes don't make sense, use whatever else works for you, but the point is to get that first step to happen automatically.
No one gets to the gym, or puts on their workout clothes (if at home), or puts on their running shoes and THEN decides not to workout. The first step is the hardest, so listen to our friend Matthew and just "Put your shoes on".

Personally, I think motivation is about leverage. You need a reason - one that will override the reasons not to. Imagine what will happen if you DO go workout and also what will happen if you DON'T. Which version of yourself do you like better?

I have been working out in the evening. I hate mornings.
 
Well now I don't really have problems with motivation. I just subconsciously realize "I get something out of doing this".

The same way, I now eat food I don't really like just because I know it's good for me. I know each vegetable I eat is something that my body will use.
 
my motivation has been and always will be....SUPERHEROES. i just think to myself what would the punisher or batman do. and when it comes to big lifts or super hard workouts i think about how big eddie brock(venom) and superman are.
 
the way i motivate myself is by saying how many times have i been bullied by people who are bigger than me. keeping this in mind i usually get angry and start working out.i jus wanna get bigger so i can make them feel what they have done to me :D and trust me it has actually worked
 
I look at myself in the mirror and like what I see. So i say to myelf: okey, if you stop you won't look as good, if you continue, you'll look better.
I also think about the way my gf looks at me and will look at me.


There's my motivation! Off to work out i go.
