Day 28 - February 1, 2010
This morning I did the normal muscle training, but I also did 20 minutes on the elliptical as an experiment. It went well - my ankles didn't hurt at all. I think I'm gonna try to do cardio in the mornings from now on.

Day 29 - February 2, 2010
I ran on the treadmill this morning instead of the elliptical, and my ankles still felt fine afterward. I did 1.2 miles non-stop at about 5.3 mph, and rounded off the rest of the 20 minutes with some slower jogging. I pulled a muscle in my back, though - good thing tomorrow's my day off so I can rest it.

Day 30 - February 3, 2010
Today's my day off, but I did do 20 minutes of powerwalking with my dog just so I got something in. I don't like days off - I find myself missing getting up early and going to the gym. I'm glad I get to go tomorrow.

Day 31 - February 4, 2010
Today was fairly normal. Went to the gym, did 45 minutes of muscle training, followed by 15 minutes of running. Ran at a 5.3mph pace for the first 5 minutes or so, then amped it up to 6.5mph for the last 10 because I wanted to push myself a bit. I also noticed I'm able to do heavier weights while lifting. I realize that in a calorie deficit building muscle is nigh on impossible, and that's not my goal - I just want to make sure I'm losing fat mass, and not muscle mass, so working my muscles harder makes sure my body doesn't draw energy from my muscles.

Day 32 - February 5, 2010
Went to the gym and did the normal stuff today. 45 minutes of weight training, 15 minutes of running. I managed to keep the pace at a 10 minute mile for the first five minutes, amping it up to a nine minute mile for the last ten minutes. No pain in my ankles or anything like that. All in all, a good day.

Day 32 - February 6, 2010
I didn't do anything worth documenting today. My muscles were sore so I'm just taking a break. I think I might do something tomorrow, but it won't involve running. Maybe just some muscle stuff. I'm not sure yet.
 
Days 33-36 - February 7-10, 2010
I've been busy so documenting my progress has taken a backseat. Rest assured, this isn't a sign of slacking - I'm still doing what I need to do daily, and I'm still losing weight at a normal rate. I'll come back and do more detailed recording when I have more free time. I'll still try to record my weight at the end of each week.

Days 37-40 - February 11-14, 2010
I got sick on Thursday with a horrible cold, and I'm just now starting to get over it. Because of that, I have decided to take a break from exercise in order to allocate as much energy to getting better as possible. I plan on going back to working out as soon as I feel healthy enough to do so. I feel like this has put a dent in my weight loss, but I guess this is just what happens. Note that I have not lost any measurable weight since I last weighed myself on Tuesday - I am assuming it is partly due to the lack of exercise and partly due to water retention because I'm sick. I hope to see some progress next week, and I'll keep everyone posted.
 
Days 41-48 - February 15-22, 2010
I've been working out consistently this past week and getting over a bad cold in the process. I'm now on my own at the gym, so I've got a little more freedom in terms of doing what I want to do. I'm still getting accustomed to it all, but that's alright - it'll come with time.
