Merging weight training and cycling

Advice needed from one of you capable gurus. I started resistance training with a Bowflex about 4 months ago (have been very disciplined and am getting good results). I also cycle, both fat tire and road. I currently alternate upper body and lower body every other day for 6 days/wk. Where would you recommend my cycling fit in? everyday or just on days when I do lower body resistance training? if my cycling was primarily on level ground and purely aerobic, I'd think everyday would be appropriate... here's the caveat; I live in the mountains of North GA and my routes are anything but level, thus burning the legs as well as the lungs. I''m thinking, from a recovery standpoint, that every other day (on lower body Bowflex days) might be best. Would appreciate any input

If you're burning up hills, I think that'll be a significant leg workout. Especially if you have clipless pedels or stirrups that will allow you to pull as well as push. Couple that with a few leg exercises and you should be good to go.

I personally like to do every other day, so riding one day and then working out another day. With cycling you dont want to be a huge heavy rider, mostly endurance and strength training, as im sure you already know. I would say try to keep a balance if possible. Upper body training is very good for riding both mountain and road. Clipless have only a little bit to do with training... more about proper pedaling...
