Meals before/after lifting?

Any suggestions on some food I could eat before or after lifting.. I lIft around 4pm after my last class everyday and usually eat dinner after my shower -- however I don't eat breakfast -- so my food schedule is as follows:

2pm: lunch - meat veges fruit etc..

6pm: dinner - same as lunch

10/11pm: late night snack. probably not the healthiest

(my classes allow me to sleep in late so im not a breakfast person but I am so willing to start -- I want to know what types of food you guys eat before entering the gym and in the mornings -- on my food to get list i have **Yogurt, apples, granola bars, and bananas** something to grab or maybe wake up to eat in the morning -- however I LOVE SLEEP!!! <bad habit>)

Also sorry for turning this into two threads but I want to get rid of the fat on my pecks I cant stand it -- now that ive started cardio I assume it will help but any exercise that will make those muscles burn? bench press/push up I know are helping but i want to feel it burn there -- my weight room doesnt have a lot of machines so if you have an idea type it out! thanx for all the support and help! Have a great day.

your meal schedule is letting you down. You need 6 small meals a day if you want to grow muscle.

I personally have all bran for breakfast - plently of fibre, b vits and slow release energy. Then I will have bananas as snacks, and a high carb meal about 3 hours before workout (e.g. baked potato), then high protein immediately after workout (e.g. tuna) then a healthy dinner, and a protein snack in the evening.

cardio will get rid of your pec fat, not pushups. Go jogging for 40 mins 3 times a week.

i'm lifting within 20 minutes of waking up so i just have one serving of whey protein with 8 ozs of water. i used to include half a banana but i stopped.

try and start adding more meals.
