Any way you look at it Mc Donalds is Denatured...Saturated Chemical filled Poison...:ack2:

Teaming up with weight watchers is a strategic marketing ploy...

The best strategy is to avoid Mc Donalds at all costs...:reddevil:

I agree with you wholly! :iagree:

I think anything is ok in moderation, and if you are willing to accept that what you are eating is not necessarily healthy. That being said, I know fast food is addictive (although I do not eat it myself) so perhaps even those with the intention of only eating it occasionally will get pulled into eating it more.

That being said, basically any restaurant does not serve healthy food, or proper portions. The ones that do are far and few between. And it can be quite surprising which foods at a restaurant/fast food place are healthier (sometimes the salad can be worse than the burger).

I think providing caloric information on menus will be a good wake up call for people, but calories is only part of the story.

Subway calories aren't as low as people tend to assume. Add cheese and some of the dressings and you're into BigMac range for calories.

I chicken kebab must be pretty low in calories mustn't it? Pita bread, grilled chicken, lettuce/onion/tomato/spicey sauce. Add an apple and a bottle of water and you're all set ;)

Pita bread's rather high in calories, the chicken is dripping in oil, and the sauce is loaded with calories. If you want something low in cals, stay WELL away from kebabs.

As for Subways, yepp, some of their Sandwiches can be high in calories, but you have a choice of not taking the cheese/dressing etc.

People need to stop being scared of their food.

A fully loaded subway sub is probably at the maximum, 1400 calories... (footlong) spread that out throughout the day and supplement where you can. Hell, I know 123 pound women that consume 2300-2500 calories a day and they're still extremely fit.

As for McDonalds, I think their food is complete garbage and if you're aiming to achieve optimal protein %, I would steer clear from it. If you're just in the area of losing weight, you can still do so with McDonalds. When everyone preaches Calories in Vs Calories Out it is true.

If you're gaining weight on a calorie deficit, you're just counting your calories wrong. (or medication, thyroid, w/e medical problem.)

Hi, NedoCTB. Women eating more than 2300 calories without gaining weight? Are they athlets? Certainly, they don't have a 9-hour office job!

Regarding McDonalds, that food is garbage!!!! it doesn´t matter if you are fit o not, that food is bad for your health!

I find a lot of people here saying its convenience and cost.. well I live in the UK and know where 2 Subways are, as well I've lived in Canada and in a fairly small town we had 3 Subways, 2 of which were in town. Maybe I'm the lucky one, but Subway has become increasingly popular. All I see from comments like this is justification to be fat. You want to justify it go ahead. But really whether you're really busy or not you don't have to eat processed foods, you can get salads from subway for pretty cheap. And if you dont want to drive around for an hour looking for one, use the internet to find one. Hey they have a pretty good store locator on their website. If you travel a lot for work why not just ask someone where one is.

I dont mean to offend anyone but thinking like that is why you're fat. I'm fat as well so I do get it. I live a real life and have real responsibilities and friends who love fast food who are usually more the delighted to go to subway instead. I guess I'm just outraged by the amount of people on a weightloss forum who are justifying reasons to eat fast food like mcdonalds and KFC. There's always a way to not.
Hi, Antyoch! You are 100% right! If a salad is expensive, take a tupperware from home or buy apples and eat a proper meal at home. Don't save money at the expense of your health!!!!!!

There are healthier alternatives than mcdonalds. Ok it’s a great thing that they are switching to healthier alternatives but that just won’t cut it. It’s ingenious. You can appeal to the market and at the same time make someone think that they can chug down on those fillets with no guilt since it has less saturated fat.
Ok don’t get me wrong, certainly one bigmac won’t make a colossal difference. Unless you eat at mcdonalds 4 times a week then you have a problem.

Yeah I think with more and more people eating healthy these days McDonald's is really trying to push the fact that they have healthy choices too.

In a way, I feel bad for McDonald's. They created this huge empire back when no one knew just how unhealthy this fast food thing was. They provided a great service to millions of people looking for quick meals on a budget. Now, we are in the middle of a movement toward health foods. They can't just squash their entire business model overnight. So they are adapting and adopting new methods. It's going to take time and I don't see myself ever eating at a McDonald's in this lifetime, but they are doing what they have to do. Don't like it? Don't eat there.
