what could it be?

Hi all

after a workout last night I seem to have injured the humerus (elbow area) of my right arm. It was extremely painful on concentration curls but was ok on military press??

Anyway I finished up not to make it any worse but today on trying to pick up the lightest object, it still hurts. obviously I will have to avoid training my right side for a few days but besides going to a doc, has any1 ever heard of this type of injury, will my right arm be out of action for days or weeks?

I cannot and do not want to miss out on my 3-4 days per week regime, or can I just carry on without training the injured arm?:animal3:

Apologies for this rambling but I would appreciate any input.

Thanks

Tennis elbow or golfers elbow caused by overuse, especially if you have a job where you're typing on a keyboad a lot. Had it myself in both arms numerous times until I had a myofascial release massage. Now I don't have any problems.

thanks for replies...I am still going to train (obviously not my right arm).

I need it, training that is. Its like a drug :eek2:

You started by saying

but then said...
all went fine except for curls on my right arm

My question is WHY?

I hear you about missing some days, i totally hate it!

It could be tennis elbow or golfers elbow, but the pain for that usually won't just go away in a few days. I'm suprised no one mentioned ice after a workout, heat 24 hours after you use it. Or ice then heat...Its simple things that work well.

Eitherway, I would give the injured area at least a week off, then test it lightly, if it still hurts see an orthapediast. The first time i hurt my elbow, i fought through the pain for months, it totally sucked, plus my workouts were frustrating and not 100%

Thanks for the input Leckbass...'except for curls on my right' referred to the fact that I could manage pretty much everything else.

Gonna give the ice a try, thanks again.
