Maximuscle Promax, Cyclone or Progain

Hi folks

having not long started a serious workout routine 6 days a week, i have read that protein supplements are an essential part of helping muscle building and recovery, only problem is I dont know what one to buy!

I am 5'10 150lbs and want go gain 20-30lbs of muscle as well as greatly increase my fitness levels. I am doing cardio training and weight training on alternate days.

could anybody tell me what is the difference between the above products and which one would be most suited to me?

Many thanks
Marty

Many people will rave about supplements and whilst they do have uses, it is very easy to fall into the trap of spending loads on supplements and gaining very little from it. Also you cannot substitute real food as your body needs a good balance of protein carbs and fat to put muscle on. Also you need to be eating an excess of about 300-500 calories to build muscle. That being said a whey powder is good for straight after workouts and apparently is also good for before your workout to help protect your muscles. But I really wouldn't spend loads on all the fancy powders on the market unless you got money to burn. If you can stomach the unflavoured stuff, take it like a man. Have stuff like eggs, milk, fish, cheese, nuts, meat for your protein and fat and wholegrain rice, bread, green veg for your carbs. Divide your food up into 6 meals or 3 meals and 3 decent snacks to keep your body fueled so it doesn't need to focus on if you have enough, just building that muscle.

One final thing that concerns me, if you're training 6 times a week you are limiting the amount of muscle you're going to build as your body isn't getting enough rebuild time. It is probably better to do some at the end of your lifting sessions perhaps 2 times a week and then when you have put on the amount of muscle you're after focus a bit more on the cardio then.

You will probably benefit most from HIIT training for 15 mins at the end of a 45 min weights session. It is an absolute killer if done right.

All the best.
