This is my second journey down the "Weight Loss Road". When i was 19 i was diagnosed with a liver condition called "fatty liver" which was discovered when doing blood tests for insurance. I was told at that time that I needed to lose some weight to help the condition. I went from 254 pounds down to around 200 with diet and excercise over the course of a year.
I, of course, wasn't happy being at 200 even though everyone told me how great I looked and what a great accomplishment it was. It was around this time that I developed an eating disorder (yes, one of the rare males with an eating disorder...talk about feeling like an outcast) and dropped down to 180 in a very unhealthy way.
Weight has been a constant struggle ever since although I am happy to say that since i got married a little over a year ago I have been able to, for the most part, recover from the eating disorder that controlled my life for 3 or so years. I am now interested in getting back to a healthy weight in a healthy manner and thought that keeping a journal like this may help me on my way!
1. What is your current height and weight? - 6'1" 232 lbs.
2. If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be? - 180 lbs.
3. At what weight would you like to be at four months from now? - 180 lbs.
4. Why do you want to lose weight? To feel better emotionally and physcially. I am a very active individual and the weight I have gained is not helping me out in that regard.
5. Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event? No.
6. What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals? Binge eating that at times is almost uncontrollable.
7. Why do you think that you now have a weight problem? See above question.
8. What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight? Getting back into my workout regiment should help immensely. That and cooking healtheir meals with the Wife's help at home.
9. Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight? Yes - healthy diet (lots of chicken!) and excercing 2-3 times a day.
10. Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back? After marriage i kind of got in a lull and it crept up on me.
11. What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Why do you think it did not work? I can not do 'fad' diets.
12. Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time? I already do this - i use mynetdiary.com which is a great tool for me as long as I'm strict and follow it.
13. Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook? Every night - Lots of chicken dishes and soups.
14. How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go? Once a week - usually somewhere like Chile's or Panara Bread.
15. What are your three favorite foods? Cheeseburgers, brats, bacon.
16. What are your three favorite restaurants? Chile's, Arby's, Texas Roadhouse.
17. What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food? Control my urges to eat more than i know i need to.
18. If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different? Just a little less of me.

26. What type of snacks do you eat? Anything and everything.
