been awhile

its been a while since I last posted in here, I've been so busy I haven't even been on the computer. Crazy isn't it? Well any way my diet has been going okay, I've been keeping it to 3 meals a day. Its working out okay I suppose, I didn't weigh in this week, My dietician couldn't find the scale. The people at the hospital move it all the time on her so. Anyway. Food stuff for today:

BLT for breakfast

Cheeseburger for lunch

Steak and Baked potato for dinner

I didn't count calories but hopefully they're okay. I'm in a hurry today so, thats all... thanks for all the replies, its really encouraging to hear those things.

the comment I'd make on your food day is where's the vegetables? wheres the fiber? Sounds like it was a fast food morning and lunch... it won't kill you once in a while but it's not a great thing to make a habit of.,,

Preplanning meals is my mantra - :) helps keep me sane :)

Cross Roads..

I ate that at home unfortunately. Still bad but not as bad as fast food thats for sure. The hamburger was 93/7 and the bacon was that precooked stuff. Could have been much worse. You're right about not making a habit of it. :D What I really need to decide is if I want to lose weight anymore. I mean I know I need to lose weight, but I hate exercising. I was even told by a doctor that the only way I'd get the weight off is if I have a gastric bypass. I REALLY don't want to have that. The last time I had surgery they took the breathing tube out too soon and I stopped breathing granted, it was their fault but I don't want to take any chances now that I'm bigger.I've been doing this for almost a year. I'm really burnt out on it. Does anyone else get burnt out? or is it just me, I'm having trouble staying motivated. Even losing 3 pounds wasn't motivation enough. So I'm at a cross road right now. sighh...

Burnout can happen when your diet is really restrictive and your calories are too low -it just seems like work and it can be frustrating.

I had looked at gastric bypass for about 1 minute and the recovery of that is hard work - plus from what i've read - people might get out ofo the obese range,b ut it's rare they get out of the overweight range... too many sideeffects for me to even contemplate

Exercising isn't easy - but you might also be starting too ambitiously - start slow - go for a 15 minute walk - then up ot to 20 minutes.. and gradually increase your time and how fast your walking... Walking is my favorite form of exercise and it does make a difference. People don't start out running marathons - you have to work within your limits.. and take it day by day...

You've lost 63 lbs so far adn that'd tremedous - it comes off in little chunks at a time and those 2 -3 lbs add up... just be patientwith yourself

burnout is no fun.
63 pounds is amazing and such good work!
i wish i knew a way to make you feel motivated.
is there music you like a lot?

I know EXACTLY how you're feeling! I have close to 170 lbs to lose and it just feels hopeless sometimes. I hate exercising, too. I ALWAYS have...even as a kid. What I have done is bought Dance, Dance, Revolution. I'm 35 and I weigh 311 lbs and I can do DDR! It's fun, and it's a way to exercise at home. There's a workout mode and after an hour, it says that it's the same workout as jogging for a mile and a half! Trust me, burn out happens to me all the time. You have done so well, though! I've only lost 20 lbs (and I think I've put a few back on, but I haven't weighed myself) and your amount lost is an inspiration to me! Just think about it and decide what's really going to be best for YOU.

I'm Back!

I've thought about it, and whats best for me is to keep on trucking along! These little losses will soon add up to something big. My grandma was hoping I'd hit the hundred pound mark by july. But I think thats impossible, unless I Lose 5lbs a week.... thats probably not a good thing. I wish it would come off that fast! lol But for me the best thing is slow but steady weight loss I have to do the following:

BE PATIENT!

FOLLOW MY PLAN!

EXERCISE!

STAY CONFIDENT!

STAY MOTIVATED!

These are all things I need to do. I need to get up off my ass and start moving, no one can do it for me. I'm not doing this for anyone, I'm doing it for me. Last week I gained one pound plus what I gained this week (haven't weighed yet) but thats coming off next week. MY mini goal is to get under 385lbs. infact I'd like to see 370lbs.. Any one have a good suggestion on exercising? I always exercise everyday for a week and then I stop after one week. I'm thinking about taking up walking maybe 3-4 times a week. 15minutes a walk?

So today hasn't started off on a good note. I had pizza for breakfast  I know thats bad, the only good thing about it is that it was boboli and I could control the toppings. On one whole pizza I put one packet of sauce and 1 cup of cheese. I had 3 1/2 pieces though, by the way this was left overs from dinner last night I didn't get up out of bed this morning and start baking pizzas lol. BUT yesterday I went for a 15 minute walk enough that I was winded a little by mid walk. So I'm thinking 15 minutes is good for now until I build my endurance up. I thinking about weighing in tomorrow and starting fresh. Maybe. I don't want to fudge up today too much though. hmm.. anyway tomorrow is weigh in day Oh boy. With the week I've had I'm sure I'm going to gain. Oh yes by the way I went on celebrity fit club.com and got a free diet profile and it suggests 1600 calories a day for me does that seem unreasonable? at my weight? so many questions so little time.. any way thats all for now kids.. thanks for stopping by!

starting with a 15 minute walk 4 times a week sounds like a good plan, then the next week make it 20 minutes and keep going up from there... Make it an enjoyable time for you - get yourself a pair of comfy walking shoes that will make you look forward to moving... and give yourself a non food based reward for 2 weeks of walking... or put a calendar on the fridge and put a gold star on every day you do walk.

you can get to your goal...

Hi, I'm the last person who should be posting about exercise as I'm very unmotivated myself  and am always thinking of excuses for not going to the gym! But you could try listening to a certain number of songs (on an ipod for example) for the duration of your walk. So when you're started out say to yourself I'll walk for 5 songs (or whatever number) and just keep walking until you've listened to the 5 songs. Sometimes it can make it easier than watching the time. Then build this up over time? Or maybe try listening to an audiobook as it might make the time pass quicker (not sure about this one as haven't done it myself?) But maybe you'd get engrossed in the story and forget the time? Just suggestions to make it easier! You can do it!

15 minutes is excellent!

There was some study about the fitness levels of people and it said that mailmen/mailwomen are the fittest because they walk.

Cool!

Plus it's nice to get outside and see stuff. Maybe listen to music. 15 minutes is probably more than 1 mile, so good job to you!

when I started bouncing on my mini trampoline, I'd do it for like 5 minutes. Now I can stay on for an hour. Yay!

fitclub.com said 1600 calories? That sounds like very few calories but I'm not an expert.

I'm going to go see what I "should be" eating calorie wise.

Glad you're back :)

Even though I don't post in here everyday I'm still on my "lifestyle change" :) everything is going well so far. I weighed in this week and lost 3 pounds I'm down to 382. woo hoo.. you can't read it on my ticker because my mini goal is 380. So I'm close to my mini goal :) I'm really excited I've finally gotten down past 385 I was really stuck there for a whole month! My exercise has been doing things around the house, I know thats not REAL exercise, but I don't think I'm really ready for the real thing yet plus its about 900 degrees outside and theres one thing I hate and thats the heat. That may all change when I'm skinny... lol Well its not so much the heat as it is the humidity. its really humid I don't have the luxury of dry heat. But for me any heat is bad. lol I'm doing great right now besides my exercise. 382! :) I'm real happy with that number. The only thing that would make me happier is if it goes down!:rotflmao:

it will - consistancy is what will keep that number moving in the right direction...

congratulations on being down 66 lbs :)

^^^thank you! :)

I'm doing well so far this week. Besides the fact I had steak and baked potato for dinner last night, but I skipped lunch because I knew that, that would be a high calorie meal. I'm hoping for a 2lb. weight loss this week, I know that another 3 pound week is probably impossible. That would put me at 380lbs. or 68lbs down. This week I was also pms-ing but I stayed on my diet, I'm just wondering if that will have an effect on my weight loss. sigh... lol Heres what I've mainly been eating for breakfast and lunch:

Breakfast:

Ham Egg Cheese Muffin (d-lights its low calories about 250 I try to keep my breakfast calories under 300)
(sometimes) an Apple

Lunch

Grilled Chicken Sandwich (eat well live healthy product the chicken is, and I put it on a hamburger roll with light bbq ranch dressing)

Apple (its an apple:))

Dinner:
Varies, but theres always a meat starch and veggie.

So hopefully when I weigh in on Wednesday I DO well!

I can't wait until tomorrow. I get to weigh in.. lol I really hope I did well but if I don't I don't want to crash and burn.. Because I've worked so hard this week at keeping my food intake down activity up. So if I get on here and say I've done horribly tomorrow, someone please remind me that its not the end of the world and to keep going because, I tend to crash and burn and for weeks I'm off my program and just maintain my weight when I need to be going down.. I definately don't have a no fail environment but my mom does buy certain things for me only because of my diet. I've resisted it all this week besides a 1x1" brownie. All the cakes, cookies, Chinese food, I've said no. So I'm proud of myself. I'm really excited to weigh in tomorrow. Well enough of my excitement, heres what I had today so far:

Breakfast:
4oz. Chicken Boneless Skinless Breast

Lunch:
undecided

Dinner:
1 Steak Fajita
1 Chicken Fajita

w/sour cream (light) and salsa

So I went and did my weigh in yesterday, I was hoping for a mere 2pounds but I got 5 pounds in one week! I know thats not really healthy but I'm not starving myself or anything I eat 3 square meals a day. They're usually low calorie meals but still I'm eating. I was having so much trouble losing that at this point I'll take any weight loss.. SO that puts me a 377lbs. down from 382lbs. last week. For a grand total of 71lbs. WOOHOO! Enough of my excitement heres what I'm having today (I've started planning my meals) :

Breakfast:

Cereal

Lunch:

Fat Free Hot Dog on a Light Hot dog Bun
Apple

Dinner:

3 pcs Homemade Boboli Pizza

I'm still stuck about how many pieces of pizza to have 3 or 4 :/

5lbs is ok - don't expect it on a regular basis but it does happen from time to time... as long as you're in the 1percent of total body weight a week - range you're doing fine -and 5 lbs is just a little above 1 percent.

Celebrate it and use it to keep you motivated :)

well done

DARN! I was already hoping next week would be another 5 pounder, but I think I lost like that because it was the first week of a new eating plan where I don't snack much and if I do its carrots or something along those lines. So its a new plan for me or maybe I'm just I having a random week who knows, I'm hoping for 2 pounds next week that would put me at 375. And a reasonable goal. I'm definitely celebrating but staying on course!

when I look back at the spreadsheet that I keep track of my weightfor months I was consistently at 3lbs a week - so much so that it was almost boring :D but every so often I'd get a 4lber in there or a 2lber - just to keep me on my toes -then i could go back and look at my food journal and see where things were different -there was always a pattern to it...
