Hello all!!
In the past year and a-half (really, since I met my boyfriend!!) I have gained 30 pounds!! From 2005-2006 I lived in Japan and the lifestyle there is very conducive to weight management, so I stayed around 150 pounds (which is light for me, I am 5'8" and very athletic build, so it was like size 4-6). When I returned to America and began driving a car again, I went up to 160 within about 6 months. Then I met my boyfriend, began eating junk food and climbed to 175. I moved back to Japan for 6 months and lost a bit of weight, but then moved to the midwest, began grad school and I have topped out at about 177-180 pounds!! I am now a size 12!
I work out almost every day and love activity. Honestly, I don't think I look that fat, but I do feel a bit chunkier than before. I guess it mostly just bothers me that I am no longer as small as I was and cannot find clothes as easily. Another product of the weight gain is that my boobs have gone from a size 34-D to a 38-D and I hate them!! They make everything look matronly on me and physically hurt when I run or do fast-paced physical activity. UGH!!
The main problem that I have is with food, not exercise. I just love to eat. Also, I was raised vegetarian (no meat, no fish, nothing but veggies and dairy) and will always remain vegetarian. This makes going on a low carb diet difficult for me, because, as a busy student, it is hard to go somewhere that has substantial vegetarian food that does not involve bread.
I really don't know what to do. I am at my wits end. I constantly work out, I try to eat healthily (I eliminated chips and french fries from my diet, which used to be a staple) but it seems I still sometimes eat poorly (pizza at least twice a week, salads with fatty dressings).
does anyone have any dieting advice for me, regarding what I should do to take the first step into really dieting?? I guess now I am only "quasi" dieting. I want to lose about 25-30 lbs!!
Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you!!
