i started alli on monday. i weigh myself almost everyday, i really can't help it. but now i am depressed because I managed to gain 2 lbs! I have been really busy with events so I haven't had much time to exercise. I'll have to read over the alli booklets again and see if I am doing something wrong. I have had no negative effects at all (some people experience runny stools and oily spotting I guess). I have read so many great success stories with this product so I guess I was really hoping it would help me because I am already on a reduced calorie low fat diet. I guess I am wanting to look really great by the time my husband comes back from deployment. I want him to be surprised and happy for me. the weather here has turned really cool so it really isn't wise for me to be walking 1 hr at a time with the babies in the stroller. I don't want them to be cold. I want this so bad, I know I can find a way.

hey there Mama, random question...are you at Minot? I dont' know what other military bases are out in ND, but a bunch of people my husband worked with in England PCS'd to Minot, so I thought I'd ask.
Great job with the 25 lbs so far. I completely understand you wanting to surprise your husband with a smokin hot wife to come home to after a deployment, I'm doing the same thing. :)
Any particular reason you decided to start using Alli?
Take care

actually we are at Grand Forks AFB, which is on the other side of the state, almost in Minnesota. about 80 miles north of fargo. we've been here more than 4 years, I can't wait to get out of here! i'd love if my husband got orders somewhere overseas. I love to travel and think it would be a neat experience
i have friend who did really well on Alli, and I thought I wouldn't have to change my lifestyle any, considering I am already exercising and on a low fat reduced cal diet, which is what alli recommends. I've been stuck on my current weight since August so I wanted a little something to give me a boost over this plateau. so far no negative side effects. I was weighing myself everyday but I htink I will try and only do it once a week now. i'll have to hide the scale.....

so is the Alli just a temporary boost? or are you planning on using it through your entire weight loss journey? I'm just naturally leary of using any kind of product since there's such a high chance of the weight coming back once you stop using it.
Good idea to weigh once a week instead of everyday. you weight fluctuates a bit from day to day so it's really easy to get discouraged quickly. I still hop on the scale daily, but I only actually count my weigh in on Friday. everything else is just my neurotic tendancies. :D
So, what does your husband do? My sister lives in Fargo by the way. I don't know how you manage to survive winters out there!!

Hi Mama!
Great start to the diary but the best about this diary is that you can record your food intake daily and check back on what you ate, and what works for you!

You know I didn't really think about how long I would stay on Alli. lol maybe i should think this thing thru! If I like the results I see after this bottle is gone, perhaps I'll buy more??? As far as gaining weight back, well, honestly I think I will have to consciously maintain my weight for the rest of my life. no matter how i drop these 100 lbs, with or without the aid of alli, i'll still be eating healthy and doing more activity when the weight is gone. i'm making a lifestyle change, not just abusing a drug to get the results i want.
sorry I'm not trying to sound rude at all! i like online forums because you can meet some great people but also sometimes post can be read in the wrong "tone of voice."
i understand you being leery of any weight lose products. let's just say I'm not putting all my hope into alli. i have determination and hope in myself.

CyberMama- Hi! I do write down what I eat, just not online, too tedious. lol

no worries Mama, I didn't think you were sounding rude at all, I was just honestly curious. I tend to err on the side of caution with how people write online. I generally assume everyone is being nice until it's painfully obvious that they aren't. :D
Hope you're surviving the North Dakota weather  way too cold for my liking.
Take care

I'm doing really well on my new healthy lifestyle. I have lost 3 lbs since Oct 20th. I feel really great and my clothes continue to get more and more baggy. i still need to find the time to exercise. I'm sure the weight will come off more easily when I do. But I am full of excuses. the weather has turned bad, the kids are cranky, i am too tired, and my husband is deploying. I'm hoping when he finally leaves I will be motivated to drop a lot of weight so when he comes back I look fantastic. i want him to be proud of me.
