I am new to this "dieting" thing. I never had a problem with weight until after having babies. Now being "heavy" is a major thing in my life. It has become who I am, and I am ready to change it.
My normal weight was always 150lbs, give or take 5-10 lbs. My average weight for the last 4 yrs has been 300lbs. My current weight is 280, and it is time to change that. I no longer want to be fat. I no longer want to be out of breath after going up steps. I want to live an active, healthy life for and with my children and husband.
All I need is the motivation to do it. I feel like I am trapped and I dont know how to get out....where to start. I know what I NEED to do, I just dont know how to do it.
I need to hear from some of you how you got started and what keeps you going! Please, any advice is greatly appreciated and wanted!
 
Hi! I left a fairly lengthy response for you in your 'newcomer' post... I hadn't seen you had already started a diary.

My story is in my diary... and what keeps me going now is, in part, that I got down to lower than I was in high school, and in the best shape of my life. I want to continue to improve that streak.

This is another great thread to read...Why? What inspires you?. You can see there are several inspirations that motivate people to lose weight.
