Hi all, I have lurked here a bit, reading some diaries and I love everyone's attitude. That's what's compelled me to start my own.. I get almost no support from most people I know. So firstly, I want to thank everyone for being so kind and making me feel like I should start this..
Forgive me for making a very long first post!
I'm a 17 year old girl and a sophomore in college, art major. Luckily I know that with this major, it'll also become a weight loss plan later in life - they don't say starving artist for no reason, haha.
I'm 5'3 and about 137 lbs, small to medium frame with big hips. No, I'm not overweight. I'm broad shouldered, lean to the muscular side (no pun intendend, though I could definitely be leaner!) and think I look pretty weird. I have a particular distaste for my arms and legs.
When I was my thinnest, last summer-autumn, I was 130lbs. So I'm not really looking to get down to a certain weight cause my body doesn't really work like that. I gained weight because last February I discovered the wonders of the fire water.. and how it slows my metabolism to a crawl, redistributes where I gain weight, and isn't that much great anyway. There are far better drugs out there
Typical college student's story; happened to my roommate too.
So I had a whole long spiel about my discovering a great diet but the process ain't that important:
I eat really often now, every couple hours. It's all about protein, fiber, and low cal choices. I rarely eat formal meals and even the wraps I make are 150 calories and delicious. I try to keep it around 1200 calories a day. I can post what products and recipes I use if people are interested.
I also go to the gym at least 3x a week. It's a small neighborhood gym and really friendly. Last week I started training for a 5k on August 4th with a running group because I used to run in high school and miss it a lot. I do stretching, abs, and weight training afterward.
So I haven't lost any lbs on this, in fact I've gained weight but I know it's muscle since my arms were weak but are lookin pretty rad when I lift. My tummy is flatter than it's ever been and I'm actually getting a 6 pack
My size 7 pants fit even weirder though. I don't know if my hips grew MORE, because I did grow an inch heightwise (for the first time in years) and my size 9's are getting looser.
I do love muscles. I wish I was a boy, among other reasons, so that I could have been a bodybuilder. And now I'm just killing time until I get to run tonight - we're doing HIIT for 3 miles...ouch...
