M.L.B's Go Hard or Go Home...

I have read many of your diaries and your stories are very insperational, so that is why I decided to start this diary with the hope that it will help me through this hard stage of my life, and to get help from all of you aswell.

My name is Michael and I am 23 years old, I started training 5 days a week on july 25th (3 weeks ago). My height is 178 cm (5"10) starting weight was 130kg (286 lbs) , and I now weigh 126 (277).

My workout is 5 days of 45 minutes on the treadmill, and 3 of those days I add a little more aerobics with resistance. each week adding a little more

My goal is to reach 80kg (176lbs), hopefully I can get to below 100kg by my birthday in february. I know that I have a long way ahead of me, but reading what alot of you have done, I feel like I can get through this.

Hey! Welcome to the forum.

This place is amazing, just reading the posts keeps me on track. You'll get there!

Do you have a diet plan?

I can't seem to get into exercise mode lol.

I don't really like to count calleries, but I try to eat as healthy as I can.

food I eat for most of the week

Morning:

2 toasts of full wheat bread with low fat cream cheese, and slices of tomatoes.

(on days that I work from 7:00 to 15:00 I take 3 fruits with me and eat 1 each 2 hours so I don't get to lunch starving)

Lunch:

Big Salad with chicken/turkey breast

(between lunch and dinner I usually have a low fat yogurt or something else, some times I just forget to eat something)

Dinner:
What is left of the salad from lunch.

Hey micheal. Sounds like you've got a good plan there, although you should maybe eat a bit more? If you dont want to count calories, thats up to you. But it does help to see if you're eating too much/little. But then again you can just eat when your hungry, healthy things and i dont see why that shouldnt work! You could definitely lose that weight by your birthday! Good luck to you, keep us posted :)

Sense I started working out 3 weeks ago my plan was training from sunday to thursday, and take friday and saturday off to let my body recover abit. I have been wondering if maybe I should add another day to my workout routine?

so my meals have been going well so far, I have the occasianal day where I eat a little more, but I do try to eat more healthy if I do.

I want to start biking outside every saturday, but it seems that there is always something that is getting in my way, if it's eather my job, or something else.

This weekend i'm off to the relatives out of town, so I will try not to over do it with to much bad food, but we are a family that loves to eat (and no none of them are actually overweight)good food, and especially good meat.

I can't wait for next week to start so I can get back to my training, and I also ordered the "EA sports active 2" online and can't wait for that to get here, so that will add a little more intensity to my workout.

Your doing so much exercise well done!! 45 mins on the treadmill i would DIE afterwards haha! Congrats on the weight you've lost so far:) Keep up the great work!!:)

Thanks irishprincess, I am using this great app on my iPhone that is called "beatburn treadmill" , it has three different training levels... Walking, walking-jogging and running. I am on the walking-jogging level on medium, and the app gives me different training routines each day ( intervals and pyramids) so all I have to worry about is doing the workout. It also increases the intensity every couple of workouts so you always feel challenged, but you can still choose whether to slow down or speed up.

By the way I couldn't wait till Sunday to weigh myself, so I weighed myself today and I weighed in at 125.3kg, a loss of 1.3kg. Can't wait to get under 120kg.

I'll upload a picture of me next week after I finish my first month of working out, and keep on taking pics on a monthly basis.

On my way to a FIFA 11 tournament with my brother and cousin, hope to not get knocked out at the first stage. Wish me luck guys.

First place prize is a ticket to Manchester and a VIP ticket to Manchester vs tottenham on the 22/23.

I had a big (not really healthy lunch) of chicken wings, with a sauce that is mostly butter, and a side dish of fried chips. So I am pretty sure I am around or over my daily calorie count, so for the rest of the day I will drink lots of water and eat only fruits. Tomorrow is another week, so I will have to work extra hard for losing that weight.

about a month ago my mom came back from a vacation in the US, and she brought me 9 shirts back. Being the big boy that I am she brought them in XXL size and they were kinda tight around the curves, but in the past week the shirts have become a little loose.

One of the shirts was really tight so I just put it in my closet and didn't even try to wear it, but I decided to give it another go, and it isn't tight anymore. All this from losing 4.7kg (10.3 pounds).

can't wait till I have to tell my mom that I have to get rid off all the shirts she brought me, because they are to big... :)

Make sure you're eating enough calories dude :p Don't want to jeopardize your great progress by letting your calories fall too low. Especially if you're doing a bunch of exercise! Congrats on your progress so far!

I never starve myself, if I feel hungry I will eat a fruit or something else.

Today when I woke up I weighed myself, and I lost another 1.8kg, wich brings my total loss to 5.2kg.

It was a great week of training and I hope this week will be the same. I also decided that from now on I will only weigh myself in the morning after I wake up, because it seems all of the fluids that you drink are gone by morning.

So now I am at work till 15:00 and than I will do my workout of 20 minutes resistance aerobics, and 45 minutes on the treadmill. I am also hoping to start playing tennis today with my brother, as long as he doesn't get cold feet on me.

as for food I had 2 peices of toast with low fat cream cheese and slices of tomatoes, and for lunch I will have my chicken breast with a Large sallad. still don't know what I will have for dinner.

Great job on the loss so far! I actually have some old clothes from when I was 160lbs. I kept them so that, if I do lose weight, it would feel so good to fit them again. It's awesome that you can feel the loss already :). I can't but...I'm thinking another 10lbs will make me feel better.

I weigh myself at night, and in the morning. I was told long ago the best time is in the morning, with nothing on. But sometimes I get so addicted that I have to do it at night and in the morning lol. Ah well!

I had a pretty good training session today...

18 minutes of aerobics

45 minutes on the treadmill ( walking and running)

even though I have been losing weight so far, I still don't have that feeling after each workout where my body is aching. Now I know that alot of people would love to have that (lose weight each week and not feel half dead after each workout), but I just don't feel as if I am challanging myself enough.

I am getting the p90x workout (not buying it just getting it from a friend), and maybe I will add that into my routine. Anyone here have any experiance with the p90x workout???

Looking back at my previous attempt at losing weight, I started at 118kg and I got to 104kg in 3 months. I really can't remember why I stopped, I was only 4 kg away from double digits.

I am trying to remember why I stopped so I won't make the same mistake again. That was about 5 years ago when I was around 17-18 years old. I guess I was young and stupid back than, if I could I would go back in time and kick my own ass for stopping.

Only thing to do now is to look forward, and keep pushing onwards.

Today I had the regular breakfast and for lunch, had some Thai food. Not fast food but home made, allot of vegetables with chicken breast and some rice, very delicious.

As for the training I had a good 45 minutes on the treadmill, only problem was when I used my iPhone app I forgot that it starts with the speed showing in MPH (we use KMH here), so I was like WTF?!?!?!? why is this so slow. Until I figured it out I was a third into my workout so I decided to wing it, and started running till I got tired than walk for a few, than ran again.
