Lukewarm's Weight Loss Diary

I'm glad you're so excited about your pact! Hehe, I know we can do it! And I'm glad your sis is able to see your progress! It's always nice to have outside affirmation on it!

I must agree today being crappy for nutrition. I did well until supper.... ah well! I will do well starting June FO SHO! lol

I hate when it's near TOM and I'm crying at things I normally wouldn't, and I'm like what the hell! Then I realise.... and it's like oh... ok that explains it, lol.

About my walking, I didn't get to walk at lunch because I had to buy new uniforms. They've been too big for a while now but I was waiting for our money before getting it. The dr's at our office give us a $50 gift certificate at this one uniform shop. I don't know why they feel the need to do that but it's so nice! So... I got mediums! I remember last year buying my first uniforms it was XL! So I'm happy, but still have a ways to go. My point was... I didn't walk cause I was shopping! However, I still walked to and from work so that made up for it!

I'm glad that you still were able to go to the gym and did that spin class, that's awesome! You keep doing that class and you'll lose weight like there's no tomorrow!

Risty That's so freaking awesome about your uniforms!!! I'm so proud of you! You must be a huge motivating force in your office, are your coworkers trying to be healthier? I rarely see someone working so hard to be fit, but when I spend time around that occassional person, it helps to inspire me too you know?

Yeah haha I'll have to put more thought into my meals in June. I'm so lazy about it. Oh geez, I think I cried about 3 times yesterday. That's RIDICULOUS! I barely cry honestly! I hope today is less of a mind****. I don't have the energy, hahaha. I just want TOM to be over so that I can weigh myself. There's no way in hell I'm approaching a scale right now!

I think shopping for your new smaller little body is a fantastic way to spend your lunch hour and I'm so excited for you! I cannot wait to have that feeling at some point. I cannot believe you went from an XL to a M. That's just so awesome. GO RISTY!!!!

Well I have my first Pilates class today. I'm not sure what I expect, but I'm definitely curious. All I've seen is these machine in the Pilates room and they look intimidating. I hope to also do the elliptical today, 60 mins.

have fun at pilates... there's a pilates studio I pass on the way home and occassionally I'll peak in the window -it looks like an interesting workout -very graceful looking...

Maleficent that's wonderful, because I could do with some grace :) Thanks I'll post later about my experience!

Afternoon friend!, Hey what are the machines for in Pilates?? We don't use any machines in our class. You will have to fill me in and let me know what you think. I love my class, but I'm sure they are different in every location. I remember taking my first class, and man oh man I was shaking a lot, I wasn't used to supporting my own body weight and it works a lot of your upper arm and legs. It took me about a week before I was able to do it all and feel comfortable doing it. So don't be discouraged your first time out, it takes time to excel in everything new. Have fun!!!
Kim

Howdy!!! Good luck with your first pilates class! I have never done pilates:D Have a wonderful day!!

Miss Ladybug I was so shaking. I did have to drop the pose a couple times. And I was anything but graceful, but everyone else looked pretty. The class is called ‘Mat/Reformer Pilates’ so while we spent half of the class on the mats, we spent the other half on these machines that slide back and forth so that you use your own body resistance to make it harder. I think that’s the purpose anyways. I did enjoy the pain and suffering however, so I signed up for next week. Why didn’t I know that you weren’t allowed to wear socks? I have not given myself a pedicure in way too long, that’s all I have to say. EMBARRASSING!

Mishi Thanks it was fun, I bet you would like it, I can tell that it is going to help immensely with flexibility, and those abs!

So I didn’t understand what Pilates was all about, but my stomach is telling me that it’s all about your abs. My thighs hurt too. Truthfully I hurt more after that class than I do after spinning. Although Barbara the instructor had a spin class right after so she invited me in to that class which was only 40 mins. There was just a couple girls in there this time and she told us how to make cramps disappear (period cramps). She said that if at the beginning of your period you are able to exercise for 40 minutes at 85% of your heart rate then you can eliminate cramps for the rest of the week.

The day after my first Pilates class, my entire body hurt. I had muscle aches in places I didn't know I even had muscles. LOL LOL it gets better I promise you that. And oh my goodness you did a spinning class too. Your on fire!! GO GIRL!!!:flame:

I am getting very interested in Pilates from your thread and posts. Between you and LadyBug, I really have to get my arse back to the gym. lol

Miss Ladybug ouch thanks for the warning! I HOPE I'm sore tomorrow, or I didn't push myself enough. I like that feeling, it's gratification you know?

2Skinny hey I actually thought of you because you always do those core exercises, so I bet you would really like pilates!

Hey, thanks for the compliments by the way :D It does feel good to go from an XL to M :)

I'm sorry you felt all weepy the other day. I know how that is, that happened to me last month I believe! LOL... that day I had cried 3 times just from waking until lunch! At that point I was like no more! lol

Good job on the pilates and the spin class, that's nuts!

I know what you mean about not being so lazy for meals in June... I'll have to do the same because I'm so lazy with meal now which is what gets me into trouble!

Risty yeah I underestimated Pilates. I’m paying for it today though. I feel like someone beat me with a stick! You deserve compliments :) and yeah tomorrow we'll be good!

So I saw this guy that I went on a date with a couple years ago at the gym today. Let me explain, my jaw surgery has left me with a giant gap in the front of my teeth. I had to expand my upper jaw because it was too small, so now my teeth are moved apart obviously, and so of course this leads me to feel kinda self-conscious about it. My teeth are moving together though and by next month the gap should finally be closed. I walked out of spin class & practically ran into him, and we had a nice little conversation, I explained, we laughed, he told me he had a kid now? Haha it’s so funny how quickly I switch into social mode. I don’t hang out with anyone basically right now because I’m trying to get my life on a good schedule, and it was really nice to speak to another person aside from my family and friends in Michigan. I had no reason to feel self-conscious, he couldn’t have cared less.

I don’t think I worked as hard as I could have today because my abs were really sore, so I’m going to a class later called ‘lean muscle workout’ and then I’m going to a spin class after. The problem with the spin class is that it’s true you can work as hard as you want to or make it as easy as you want to. I want to make up for this morning.

Oh and I lost ZERO pounds in May. I weigh 169 again though so I’m happy I’m in the 160’s, I’m not going into the 170’s ever again.

Hi LW, how's your day going? Congrats on reaching the 160's! If you keep up all that working out you sure wont get back into the 170's. I started in the 160's and my weight was barely moving. I couldn't imagine reaching the 150's, or 140's for that matter, but eventually it ends up happening.

Blancita I haven't really wrapped my mind around it yet! I'm so eager to move past it, because I haven't weighed less than this in more than a year. I know what you mean though, because I can't imagine 150 let alone 140's. Thanks for being a great inspiration :)

There are no classes offered at the gym today so I'm going to try and weight lift, and work out on the Elliptical for 60 mins. It's kinda rainy today which I love, and the gym seems to be pretty empty when it's soggy outside. It should be a good day to strength train. I've got lots to do though so have a nice day everyone!

Hey! It's JUNE! We're gonna kick some ass!

I'm glad you got to run into someone and have a nice chat. It's always nice to run into people you used to know and catch up a bit, although sometimes it's not so nice and you get the awkward silences... so I'm glad that didn't happen in your case!

About your jaw thingy, I didn't know it would make that big of a gap like that. I can understand why you'd be self concious about it, I mean, when you're used to yourself being a certain way all your life and then now there's this gap. I'm glad it'll close all up. I don't like gaps in teeth, I don't know, I just don't... lol So I hope it does close all up for you!

So I'm in the middle of this cleanse thingy I'm doing and hopefully it'll help me break my plateau! I have to have a clear fluid diet for 4 days out of the 2 weeks program of the cleanse and right now I'm on day 3. So I hope that in itself will help me drop a couple pounds, but more so.... not being so dependant on food is good too. I hope that with not eating for the 4 days that when I start to eat it'll really jumpstart my healthy eating and not my crappy binging.

Anyways, good luck to us in June!

Risty oh wow! cool! I'm so intrigued by these cleanses! lol yeah the gap thing is ridiculous. I hate to say it, but I sort of look homeless. I have had it for 2 months and it sucks, but in 30 days it will be over and done with.

I'm sure it will help you break your plateau, not only are you due for it to be over, but this will be great at ridding all of the toxins from your body, I'm really excited to see how it goes for you. I can't wait to read your opinions on it!

Yeah I like this cleanse, I've done it a couple times before. I did one at the start of my weight loss and I've done one like a year before that. It's called the a colo-vada. My mom is into vitamins and we get it through the company that we've been apart of for soooo many years. I've experience so many good things, as have the rest of my family, from the supplement from this company. The most impressive thing is that with certain supplements it helped my one sister who has ADHD be able to concentrate in school and learn. She had the hardest time learning and was barely making it and with the help of the right nutrients she actually graduated last year and I'm so proud of her :D Because of how well it worked for her, this one kid my mom babysits has the same issue and so the parents are giving him the same supplements and now he can actually sit down and concentrate on homework. So, I joined the company so that I can buy my own vitamins (which I still haven't done but will eventually do...lol).

Anyways, that got soooo off topic... but... the colo-vada is a 2 week program and for the first phase (1 week) you take a package of vitamins in the morning and night and it helps to clean out the colon and remove toxins from the body and bring it to the colon. Then phase 2 (4 days) you do the clear fluid diet and they give these pouches which you can mix with juice (I use orange juice) and you take that 4 times a day (every 4 hours or so). The pouches contain clay and the clay's purpose is to absorb all the toxins in the colon. That's why you have a clear fluid diet so that the clay can absorb the toxins without ... ya know... being in the way... lol. And you also take the vitamins in the morning and at night which gives you nutrients since you're not eating. Then phase 3 (3 days) there's vitamins you take and the morning and at night and it just helps to replenish your body with good bacteria and vitamins. That's how my mom explained it to me :) I just really like it because it really does get you cleaned out and feeling great.

Just thought I would explain it to you since you seemed so interested :D

Risty I appreciate the explanation. I was really interested in doing something like that, only the one I was interested in was pretty gimmicky. So my mom asked the nurses that she works with if they thought it would be a good idea, and all of them were like 'bah...' but then agan, the women she asked were all overweight southern women that haven't heard of it before and I don't think it makes much sense to say something is worthless unless you've researched it...so needless to say, I haven't tried it. Again I think it's a really interesting idea. I hope that it will help you bust out of that plateau and have you working your way down the 160's. :)
