BRACES ARE OFF!

I think I was stressed during the appointment the diazepam had worn off by the time I left hahaha. So much space in my mouth. I feel like a crocodile now I suddenly have big white teeth lol.

Just got to go back again tonight in evening peak hour to pick up my night retainer.

Also my lips are super dry from having my mouth open for an hour and I have residue all over my face from having impressions done haha.

Fitbit gives me a 583 calorie deficit.

Ahhhhh I'm so tired. After being sleepy all day yesterday from getting up early we went to sleep around the normal time but apparently my body remembered the 5am alarm and woke up at the same time today. Nooooooooooo.

Didn't do much the rest of yesterday, made lasagna for lunch and then watched a bit of Iron Fist on Netflix.

I love banana bread, my friend's mom used to make the best banana bread ever when we were growing up. The trick is to make it as moist as possible and it is delectable.

Excellent step count, I don't think I have the budget for a Fitbit right now, but I think it's a great investment.

Are you using your exercise to offset your calorie intake?

A good day, Lucy. I find the creaming soda too sweet, but I laughed when I saw it in your photos the other day as I had just had one. I like the Kirks lemonade.

Kind of I guess. Before I got the Fitbit I basically chose a daily amount to eat (I was much less active when I started as I had only just started exercise rehab- I think my starting average was 1550 calories a day?) Then when I weighed in once a week I would get an estimate of how much I burned vs ate from the loss (100g loss= 700 calorie deficit over the week) and I would average that over a month so I could start projecting how much I'd lose with what I ate. The fitbit is pretty accurate I think, even if it's 100-200 calories over I'd still be losing 300g-ish grams a week at my current intake which was my original goal.

Now I use the fitbit I have it linked to MyFitnessPal so they sync with each other which is handy, but basically I still aim for a certain amount of calories (1600-1700 average over the week) and whatever my Fitbit comes up with calories burned I use to determine my deficit. My daily activity is pretty similar, 1 hour walk and either upper/lower body Pilates or my quad strength stuff so I don't really 'eat back' calories as I accounted for my activity levels when I set my calorie goal. I found https://tdeecalculator.net/ to be pretty accurate when I started.

Creaming soda to me tastes like birthday parties as a kid when Pizza Hut used to do all-you-can-eat. We would ALWAYS get creaming soda and add in soft serve ice-cream. Nostalgia!! I am getting a little sick of it though so I might switch it out for something else next shop.

Weigh in tomorrow! I have had the best food week (calorie wise- week average of 1658, Fitbit prediction of a half kg loss) since the beginning of last month. Really frustrating though, I don't know if I'll see weight loss on the scale as I think I'm retaining a heap of fluid, I'm so puffy right now. Not exaggerating, even my cheeks are really puffed out. Still think its pill related, doctor said to give it 3 months for my hormones to calm down. Been a bit constipated since I started it back up again too. Frustrating, but it's whatever! Will see what happens. If it's another month of hovering followed by a whoosh at least its still moving in the right direction.

I've made sure to drink my 3L of water today (I do 6 days out of 7 anyway) so will just keep keeping on.

I think I prefer eating to my Fitbit too, I haven't had a serious binge this week because I've just been eating more on days that my Fitbit says I burned more. Might stick with aiming for a 500 calorie daily deficit average for the rest of the month based on my Fitbit instead of aiming for a specific calorie amount and see how I go.

I don't think I'll consciously try upping my steps yet either, I'm getting 10k a few days a week already so I think I might wait until next month before I start intentionally aiming for that every day.

Also non-weight related, I might need to duck into the orthodontist office on Mon as my teeth on my right side seem to connect a little more than the left when I bite so it's made one of my upper teeth sensitive. Might be glue from the fixed retainer I'm biting on, not sure.

61.3kg today! Ok so as puffy as I was yesterday I figured a heap of the fluid was gone when I had to wake up and pee in the middle of the night (I NEVER have to get up in the middle of the night) and then again this morning after not drinking anything in between. So that's exciting, if I take this weight as accurate then the fitbit is only a 100 calorie a day average off but I'll see how it goes for the rest of the month. Over a quarter of the way there now!! If I manage a 400g loss next week I'll be in the 6-0's!!

  • Vanilla yopro
  • Lasagna
  • 2 cheese toasties (100g bread total, 50g mozzarella, 10g butter)
  • Slim secrets shake
  • Mint fudge protein bar

Fitbit gave me a 544 calorie deficit.

Weekly averages

Calorie intake
1670 calorie average
Fitbit calorie burn 2209 calorie average
Daily deficit 539 calorie average

Ok so yesterdays food looks pretty junky. No veg either besides the mushrooms in the lasagna. Honestly I wanted to binge so bad. Actually kind of did, I ate the YoPro just after 11, then had the lasagna at 11.30, considered ordering food, had the toasties at 12, then decided to try and nap instead which I am terrible at... but trying seemed to be distraction enough. It made me lazy enough to not want to get up again until around 4 when I had that shake, then I was starving when I cooked Ash dinner so I had the extra protein bar. I've planned for today to be around 1700ish too so I don't get tempted, I did sleep better last night though (besides having to get up early to pee- we went to sleep before 9 and I got up around 6 despite what my fitbit says). Took 6mg of melatonin last night which might have helped.

I guess this weeks goals will be to aim for around a 500 calorie deficit average again- I think calories will have to be slightly less to get there this time though as I don't think we have plans for Ash's days off (not yet anyway) so might be a fair bit less active. Also to get more veg in, I've been a lot lazier with food this week and seem to just have breakfast plus a main meal and a heap of snacks. Must eat more vegetables!

You are still getting your 10 K Lucy, which makes a difference &, yes you should eat more vegetables, but then you know that anyway. Well done on that loss. I had one too this morning- YAY!!

Food
  • Banana baked oats with 20g peanut butter
  • Yopro with 80g blueberries
  • Another banana baked oats with 20g peanut butter
  • 2 baked potatoes with cheese and herbs, veg, 4 beef and sweet potato chipolatas
  • Slim secrets protein chocolate
Totals 2086 calories, 199 carb, 88 fat, 125 protein

Fitbit gives me an 11 calorie deficit.

Ended up being a higher calorie day, I ate pretty much everything in the first half of the day. Last thing I ate was at 1pm, kind of rolled lunch and dinner together so I could have a huge meal (and I had two breakfasts lol). Had a better sleep last night, I think from the extra carbs.

Bodies and their wants and needs are weird - even more so when you throw in hormonal birth control. I like the look of your baked potatoes!

Binged today. Honestly wasn't the worst, ending the day on 3327 calories which is a little over 1000 over maintenance. If I'm sensible the rest of the week I'll still lose. Just thought I'd post now so I don't just run and hide from here for a few days hahaha. No food pics tomorrow as I stopped taking them. But food was-

  • French toast
  • Protein fluff
  • slim secrets protein pud
  • 4 beef and sweet potato chipolatas, winter veg mix
  • 1/2 scoop BCAAs
  • Kombucha
  • Mountain bread chicken sausage roll with 15g sugar free tomato sauce
Here's where it goes to shit.
  • 2 Maxine's protein cookies
  • slim secrets protein chocolate
  • Fish and chips- I weighed what I ate. 381g chips, 95g battered fish, 116g crumbed fish. Used the highest calorie counts I could find in MFP.
Totals 3327 calories, 310 carb, 142 fat, 190 protein.

I'll post fitbit burn tomorrow but at this stage it looks like it'll be around 2100.

I'm glad you posted & didn't run & hide. It happens, xo

Yea I'm trying to break the regular cycle that happens around a binge... staying off here for a few days, trying to restrict a bit more than usual, usually having another binge and not caring as much as I should because I'm avoiding here anyway hahaha. Why are brains so weird? Back to normal tomorrow.

Also ended up having to go out and run errands when Ash got home from work so got a whole heap more steps in so calorie burn will be higher. Walked around Aldi while we were out, I really like their frozen veg mixes hey! I usually get their grilled Mediterranean mix, but I also tried the winter veg one this week and grabbed a new one tonight that I think was just called grilled vegetables. They're tasty. I think I'm doing chicken schnitzel for dinner tomorrow so might do that veg mix with them.

Over by 1096.

Also yes, my sleep was terrible. If I'm full late into the evening or I eat too late I can't sleep which is why I usually try to have any cheat meal in the middle of the day and then fast. Honestly don't know how people have huge meals and then sleep them off lol.

I get awfully sleepy when I eat large meals in general, but as with alcohol they often have me wake up later in the night.
