Lucy's Diary

Congratulations on getting out of the job you didn't like. And you will be an awesome trainer. How long is the course? Take care and stay warm, Lucy. I love reading your updates.

Finally!!! Lucy's free!!!

Great seein ya smile! Hope you have a much happier time now that you're outta that place.

Good luck and take care!

Woah that workout sounds hardcore! Especially the treadmill bit, think I'd be bedbound the next day after all that haha! Keep up the great work :D

Hey congrats on the good news coming your way with the car and being done work! I'm so jealous by the way that you now have days off till school starts. I got really used to lying on the couch last week when I was off so it's good to be back at work but I know if I was feeling good I would have been outside or cleaning or just doing whatever the hell I like!
That's so cool that you have a place to work already once you get some school in. I also love the idea about boxing - it's always fun to switch up your routine! Good to be back and glad to see you weren't so perfect while I was gone - we all need a break here and there! Time to do some damage control this week! :seeya:

Juni- I'm doing fitness cert 3 at the moment, that's 6 months... I can get a fitness job a few months into it though! That qualifies me to work in a gym, take group fitness classes... actually it qualifies you to do everything except personal training, which is what I'll study next year- the cert 4 part goes for another year. But it means I can start working at a gym in a few months while I'm studying, and through next year too! I'm excited!

Flumes- I'm SO freakin happy I'm out of there. I had no idea how much I loathed working there till I left- all this weight off my shoulders all of a sudden. Hurrah!

Kirsty- Yea my trainer is MEAN. I guess that's what I pay him for though lol :D

Lisa- DEFINITELY doing damage control this week. And for the next few weeks. I feel like I've done nothing but eat junk food for the last fortnight!!

OK guys, I'm back again... I was really bad over the weekend... AGAIN. I had a cold and just wanted to eat everything- which is weird because I couldn't TASTE anything.
I've decided I have been going about this the wrong way... I absolutely CAN'T go through life with my weight fluctuating all over the place all the time because I can't say no to masses of junk food... it's not healthy, and I REFUSE dammit! So, I've decided to cut all the crap out of my diet altogether... BUT... I'm getting more creative in my boredom. I'm not going to eat anything just 'because it's good for me'... I'm only going to eat food that I enjoy, and tastes good... And I'm going to make sure my days are balanced too. I had a perfect day yesterday:

Food
Breakfast: 2 pieces wholemeal toast, 2 eggs, 2 beef chevups
Snack: Choc protein shake with skim milk
Lunch: 50g oatmeal, 1 cup milk, 1 banana (I 'melted' the banana in the stove beforehand, then added it to the cooked oats with some cinnamon and a drop of vanilla then hand blended it... OMG... tasted like banana pudding)
Snack: 90g can tuna in springwater, 125g can of 4 bean mix, 1 tomato, 30g extra light grated cheese
Dinner: 90g dates (had a sugar craving lol)
Snack: Protein shake with water

Exercise
1hr walk

I don't really have a plan for today as I have NO idea what's happening... I may or may not be meeting Wade for lunch after I've enrolled at my course so I don't know what to put down!!!
For breakfast though I was all inspired by yesterdays oatmeal, and I made choc-banana oatmeal today! It was 50g oats, 1 cup milk, 1 banana (melted again!) I mixed that all together after they were cooked and then added a scoop of choc protein powder, a tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa, a sprinkle of cinnamon and a drop of vanilla... then hand blended it. Was SOOOOOO good! Just what I needed with my coffee on this freezing cold morning!
So yes... today I am enrolling in my fitness course, YAY! Because I must be slightly insane, and I HATE public transport... I looked up how far away the enrolment place is. And decided to walk it, haha! It's 9.8kms away, so should take me about an hour and a half I'm guessing! I really hope Wade meets me for lunch though otherwise I'm walking back too!!! I'm packing a snack- got 30g hazelnuts and an apple with me. So I'll have to let you know later how the rest of my day goes...
Hope you're all doing GREAT, will check in on other diaries later!!

Dates for dinner????? I'ld be vibrating from all that sugar! lol But the rest of your food looks awesome. I bought some cookies and cream whey powder and its gross if I drink it with water...even milk. But if I mix it in my oatmeal...is friggin awesome! I am going to order another 5 lbs just for my oatmeal....yum-my!

The near 10 k walk is crazy too! Good luck! I know you can do it! But twice?? Bring a drink with you if you can!

Great journal Lucy....very cool to follow your days and be part of your weight loss journey!

Take care!

Fantastic day yesterday, Lucy. The almost 10k walk is doable, but like Flumes says, bring a drink. Also music. And don't freeze. :) Good luck. I hope you have another perfect day. BTW, the oatmeal sounds really yummy.

Eek! Well I was really hoping Wade would meet me for lunch... but he didn't... so I walked 20kms today lol. Would have caught the bus but I had no coin on me!!!! My boots massacred my feet too... I was fine getting there, but then I got a little lost on the way back- so actually walked more like 21kms lol- and yea now they're pretty much rubbed raw. It was fine though, a bit chilly but ok. Met some nice people that are going to be in my class too!! Looks pretty intense, and we get our fitness evaluated in a one-hour circuit every Monday morning! Plus we get use of the gym there too, so I might do some classes every week or something! I thought it'd only be a few days a week too, but no... it's Mon-Fri 9am-3pm pretty much every day. And we have a uniform because during our practicals we officially work at the gym... and on client days, we have actual gym clients lol. Fun fun!!!
Well here is how the rest of my day is looking:

Snacks: Tablespoon peanut butter, protein shake with water, 50g l/f cottage cheese (was starving when I got home!)
Lunch: 2 pieces wholemeal toast, 2 eggs, 3 chicken chipolatas
Dinner: Homemade chicken parmigiana with steamed broccoli and carrot

Exercise: I think the 4.5hrs of trekking is plenty... my feet are too raw to run today!

Can I just say oatmeal is my hero...? I didn't even get hungry until I was almost home (I ate at 7am and got home at 2pm... had 2 coffees and the hazelnuts in between but it kept me going!!) That stuff is magic!

I'm so jealous of your classes starting! That sounds like so much fun and a great motivation to keep up your eating since you have to wear a uniform everyday!
I also love the oatmeal you have been making - sounds delicious!
I can't believe you walked 21 kms! That's a half marathon girl! You are totally doing some great damage control! Glad to see your back on the wagon - always motivates me to bring it back too!
Have a great week and weekend and I'll be back Monday to check on how your doing!

Wow!! 21km....crazy. I did SOOOO much walking too today, Lucy (nothing compared to you, of course), but I walked for about 2 hours today evening. So glad you are turning this week around. And your classes sound like a lot of fun! Yay! Have a good one.

Lisa- I'm SO excited!!! I've waited to do this for SOOOO long!!! The uniform is for anytime we do gym work... which is every day lol so pretty much will be wearing it every day! Did I mention how short the freakin shirts are!? I am definitely going to have to wear a singlet or something under it!

Juni- 2hrs of walking is awesome!!! I wish that was all I'd done- I'm hobbling everywhere today with massive blisters under my right foot cuz my very old and well loved boot broke (I didn't even realise till last night) so my foot was slipping in it all over the place. Arrgh!! Have gym tonight so I'll just have to get over it!

Sunflower- Thanks sweetness, I'd never say no to a cuddle from someone gorgeous as yourself!!! I saw your new pics last night but didn't get the chance to comment, will do after this... I'm SO fucking jealous of your legs!! They are long and skinny and go on FOREVER!!!

Had the BEST oatmeal combination for brekki this morning (hehehehe, boredom makes me add a bit of crazy to everything I cook I think!) This morning it was 50g oats, 1 cup milk, 1 tablespoon of smooth peanut butter, 1 banana (cooked on the stovetop so it goes all caramelised and gooey) a sprinkle of cinnamon and a drop of vanilla... Made it into a pudding again with the hand blender. Ahhhhhhhhhh, it was SOOOOO good!!!! I can't DESCRIBE how good lol. I want to marry oatmeal :beating:
Lets see... what am I doing today...? I have NO idea!!! I'm totally loving being unemployed, I have about 3 weeks before school starts too. I can do anything I want to today!!! It's awesome, I'm cooking dinner every night, I'm making hot lunches every day, watching too much TV... :biggrinjester: Sorry, I'll stop rubbing it in now. I haven't had holidays or time off since my wedding last year, and before that it was several years.... so I'm well and truly enjoying it!
Oooo I know what I'm doing tonight that I'm excited about- I'm buying a food processor! Going to get a lil more creative :D I'm going to start freezing fruit and making mock- ice cream... and I'll never have to use a grater again. I'm excited! Have to wait for hubby to get home though, he has the car... so going out tonight, late night shopping.

Todays Plan
Food
Breakfast: Totally incredible PB and banana oatmeal
Snack: Protein shake with skim milk
Lunch: Curried egg sandwiches on wholemeal with cheese and spinach
Snack: 90g tuna in s/water, 125g 4 bean mix, 30g grated cheese, 1 tomato
Dinner: Beef stew with basmati rice

Exercise
10min jog, 30min gym with trainer

Ooo my healthy parmigiana worked out great last night! I was feeling lazy so I did it in the slow cooker so was a little bit worried about it but it was YUM! All I did was brown 2 chicken breast halves in a pan (didn't cook them all the way through, just gave them some colour) then stuck them in the slow cooker with a tin of no-salt-added tomatoes, 1 clove crushed garlic, a tablespoon of pesto, then sprinkled 1/4 cup breadcrumbs on top, and 1/4 cup extra light cheese on top of that. Cooked it on high for 2hrs and perfection! Om nom nom!!!! Hubby loved it!

Was a bit naughty today. I have NO idea what happened, but after lunch I just had to have something sweet!!! I was desperate! So... I looked up a recipe I had come across a while ago. Basically it's dates, unsweetened cocoa and nuts (I used cashews) in a food processor and you roll it into balls. They are chewy balls of chocolate HEAVEN (I'm trying to cut out all sugar and all over processed junk) Anyway... ate too much... Still finished the day on a 500cal deficit. Totally impossible to overeat majorly on 'healthy' junk food though I've discovered... I physically couldn't eat anymore and was incredibly full for the rest of the whole day!! Gym was painful as always, but really glad I went. Going to fully clean the house tomorrow, yay for me!

Good morning all- it's already Friday!!! Eee time off goes SO damn fast!!! Like SCARY fast... I can't believe I just lost a whole week of my life!
I have sore shoulders today from gym last night, everything we did was weighted... did zillions of different types of lunges with a 15kg bar across my back- did one leg at a time, alternating legs, walking lunges- Also did heaps of fitball squats with a 10kg dumbell in each hand. Then totally killed my arms with bent over rows, assisted chin ups, heaps of push ups, tricep dips, then 10mins of boxing... and finished off with abs. I do always fee better and more energetic after going, but ow lol.
My blisters hurt sightly less today so since I've been a bit lazy this week after being sick I think I might take myself back to the gym for some cardio after breakfast. Then I have SO much cleaning to do, ick.

Todays Plan
Food
Breakfast: 2 pieces wholemeal grain toast, 2 eggs, 2 beef chevups
Snack: Protein shake with skim milk
Lunch: 50g oats, 1 cup skim milk, 1 banana, 1 tbsp peanut butter
Snack: 90g tin tuna in s/water, 125g tin of 4 bean mix, 1 tomato, 30g grated cheese
Dinner: Stir fried veg with chicken breast

Exercise
1hr cardio at the gym

Did pretty ok at the gym today I think- ran 5.024kms in 30mins then biked 14kms in another 30 on level 10. Pretty average but I had to push myself to get to the full 30 on each so I'm proud I got there!
Feeling really good about myself today. I made these last night and had one when I got back from the gym:
I made mine with hazelnuts and they taste like ferrero rochers!! I don't know if I've put this down yet... but I have decided that I'm cutting all processed food out of my diet. So this is my 'healthy' chocolate fix lol. I followed the recipe exactly and with hazelnuts in them I made 12 balls and worked out on fitday they are 144cals, 4g fat, 14g carbs, 4g protein. And they are all natural, SO damn good tasting, and SOOOOO rich I can't eat more than 1!
Have an awesome day everyone, I am going to clean the house!
:waving:

Those sounds YUM! I'll make some once I can control myself a little better. Put on 7lb so..yeah..no choccies for me! :( You're doing so well luzzy, very proud of you :) And yay for not working! Make the most of it <3

Oh wow!! Those look delicious! I used to make some RAW chocolate balls that sound very much like that when I was a full raw foodist last year! No preservatives!! Woohoo!!!

:cheers2: Glad you are busting your ass!!!

Hey Alta- There's actually heaps of vegan and raw food recipes on there. I wish my husband was into health, I would love to be a vegetarian again. It's just so hard with a freakin mega junk food addict in the house! It's too hard making 2 dinners every day. I have heaps of other awesome raw food dessert recipes I want to try- I'll just make em and won't tell him they're healthy and see if he likes them!
Haha was a big struggle to get him to try the choccie balls yesterday, he'd seen me make them and refused because they had dates in them and he HATES dates. So we had a really big stupid argument and I didn't talk to him for half an hour and then he angrily grabbed one and ate it lol... then he told me he hated it when I made him try something healthy and he liked it. :smilielol5: WHAT A BABY!

It's the weekend, and it's hard to get excited cuz, well, I have every day off lol. And we are super poor this weekend too, after my course fees and I had to book in to get my senior first aid certificate before I started study. I applied for lots of really crappy jobs yesterday too so hopefully I'll hear back from one... I need work for Sat and Sun. I'd rather not work nights.
Hm so I don't really have any plans. Hubby is sick too, he seems to have brought home another cold or the same one came back again, I don't know. Anyhoo it'll be a quiet one.

Todays Plan
Food
Breakfast: 50g oats, 1 cup milk, 1 banana, 1tbsp peanut butter
Snack: Protein shake with skim milk, peanut butter ball
Lunch: Wholemeal grain sandwich with curried egg, cheese, spinach
Snack: Protein pudding experiment
Dinner: Homemade burger in a wrap

Exercise
10min jog, 30mins gym with trainer

Hey Luz - how'd the quiet weekend go? Get lots of use out of the food processor? I started a new diary to kick start the next month but I wanted to answer you about the spike driving since I didn't get to in my old journal. I work for the railway so every year they have this competition to see who can drive the spikes into the rail the fastest. The men have to pound three spikes and women two into the railway ties - the fastest time wins! It's a really heavy spike driver they use and they swing it like an axe into the spike that goes into the tie. Hope that makes sense!
Keep up the creative cooking and exercise too! You are doing great and finding such a balance for yourself! I wish I could live with you for a month just to get it down the way you do it!!
