I've been doing some research into low volume training and I'm thinking about trying it out. I was going to go for a 2 day push/pull split such as,
push/pull/rest/push/pull/rest/rest
My understanding is that a good routine would be going heavy for one set and then lighter for two sets the next time. I was going to try 6-8 reps on a heavy day and go heavier if I can manage 10 reps. For the lighter days I was going to do 12-14 sets and add more weight if I can do 16 reps.
What are your opinions on low volume training?
Also, if I go for low volume, should I be doing multiple exercises per muscle? At the moment I only do one exercise per muscle with the exception of quads.
Thanks in advance for any answers,
Edd.
