A diary is a great idea so here I am and go.
My current eating plan: NutriSystem.
Starting weight: 173 lbs approximately three weeks ago.
Current weight: 166.4 lbs
Goal weight: 135 at 2 lbs per week or 8 lbs per month.
Height: 5' 7-1/2"
Exercise: I am just incorporating exercise into my daily regimen. I purchased a few items for our condo including a manual treadmill (due to lack of space for an electronic), an Ab Roller, an Exercise Gym Chair which is basically resistance bands for strength and toning, and I did sign up for a gym membership.
I have always felt better exercising, and having a heart history and hypothyroidism as well as being on meds for high blood pressure and cholesterol, losing weight and exercise is highly recommended by all of doctors/specialists. I have to work through, up, down and around my health issues if I plan to live a long healthy life. The above conditions, especially heart disease, are familial but I don't see any of my siblings making any major changes to change anything. I think and know I can make changes. I would love to lose some daily meds as well as feel and look better. My first heart attack was at 40 years old and I now have six stents and a blockage that can't be stented, but I'm told to exercise and keep my Nitro on hand. I'm starting slow and trying to be realistic about what I can do. What to do when and how much to start is where I'm stuck right now.
As for the food program; I chose to do that because my husband eats at work and I basically eat all my meals alone. I really have not been bad about food choices on my own, but I thought it would be helpful and save me time to go the NS route. The hardest part since I started has been adding the recommended extras to the meals, power fuels, smart carbs and vegetables plus extras. It just seems like so much food to me. Maybe that will change as I add exercise and my metabolism picks up?! I did pick up all I need for the extras so am ready to start adding even if I have to force it.
I have worked a sedentary job from home on the Internet and am in between jobs now and taking a break. Time is no excuse, food is taken care of, I just need to be motivated to start and continue the daily exercise.
