In the beginning of August I weighed about 235-240 lbs at about 5'9-5'10. The only type of exercise I did was lifting a 25lb dumbbell working my biceps every few days. I also ate a LOT of junk food during the week(chips, lots of soda everyday and chinese or mcdonalds 1-2 times a week) and everything I drank had sugar in it(almost never drank water). At the end of August, I decided it was time to stop. I cut out almost all junk food, started eating more greens and chicken, started drinking 10 glasses of water a day and maybe one cup of soda a day. I also started going to the gym at least 2-3 times a week for an hour lifting weights and doing some cardio(elliptical and stationary bike). However today I looked at the scale, it says I'm 252 lbs. I feel a difference in my arms and legs and there's a slight difference in my build when I look in the mirror but not as much as I thought there would be after 2 months. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.

When I cut out junk food and started eating more home cooked meals, fruits, and vegetables my weight didn't change at all. I started working out more, and my weight didn't move. I cut out soda, and there was no change. And while I was training for a bike race, my weight went UP 8 pounds. It happens. It sounds like you're body is building muscle right now, which is good. But it sounds like you're eating enough to maintain your weight and the additional muscle gain. Do you know how many calories you're eating in a day? If so, cut out one or two small things every day for a few weeks and see if you have any change. Maybe one slice of cheese on your daily sandwich instead of two. Or 1/2 a cup of milk with your cereal instead of a whole one. Or cut out that Friday night dessert. If you're weight starts going down, then that was it.

If you're working out a lot, and really focusing on that, then watching your calories should be a breeze.

You are doing the correct way, but just that muscle will weight heavier than fat. Since you have feel some difference in your build. Just continue with what you are doing. You will get what you want.

Keep it up the good work.
