I am loving my new diet, well actually its my old diet !

I grew up Seventh Day Adventist and in that religion treating your body like a temple was such a huge part. My parents raised Myself and my brother and sister Vegetarian I had never had any weight issues with that old lifestyle.
When I turned 24 the girl I was dating (now married to ) talked me into trying this Sizzling Chicken and Cheese dish at Fridays!!! And poof I was hooked !! it was almost like Crack to me it only led to Fast Food and horrible eating !! I went from 190 pounds to 290 pounds.

Well I know alot of you are thinking how stupid that sounds but when you drop the meat it dropped so many options!

So recently I dropped all the meat again and let me tell you it wasn't hard at all!!!

There is this meat supplement from MorningStar farms Vegi-meat that really does taste amazing.

So I am currently dropping about 15pounds a week here is what I am doing !

7am Morning Star Pattie with 1 egg
8am Gym 45 min Arc Trainer
Lunch Peanut Butter and Jelly with Corn Chips
5pm Gym again 30 min run at 4.1
Dinner-- MorningStar Griller with Green beans and Potato

I know this might now seem like the easiest diet but My family has never had any weight issues and I diden't until I left my old eating styles

That seems like a really unhealthy diet to me, actually.

I see very little actual veggies in your diet (other than processed soy/bean patties that are high in sodium and chemicals). Oh and token green beans with dinner.

A pbj sandwich and corn chips isn't exactly a healthy lunch. There's nothing wrong with peanut butter, but corn chips? On a diet? Really?

Plus you're not getting nearly enough calories to be healthy - especially given the amount of exercise you're doing. Sure you may be dropping 5lb a week now, but that won't last as you stall your metabolism and screw up your weight loss. Plus, as soon as you start eating a reasonable amount of food again, you'll gain it all back.

Just because someone isn't eating meat, doesn't mean they're eating a healthy diet.

You need more real veg in there, and more healthy fats. Also I'd recommend ditching at least one of the Morningstar meals for real food ... that's not full of extra sodium and chemicals.

Correct

You are actually right about the vegi thing, I have my supplement meals that I replace I just did not write them down I was kinda using an example of yesterdays meal.

Although one thing I have to disagree on and will get a bunch of hate on is my method of loosing weight.
You see for 2 years I shoved McDonalds down my throat and trust me that wasn't healthy !! but see I feel like the biggest problem with people trying to loose weight is trying to be overly healthy ! I am not someone who sits and celebrates loosing 10 pounds in a year Ive got way to much drive than that now when I hit my goal then I can add all the natural foods and healthy eating but trust me its not like that diet in anyway would hurt me, my grandmother eats nothing but nutz/berries 3 days out of a week and she is 98 and still driving her car!!

To me its all about loosing at first and my weight is flying off me plus since I am not going back to meats and staying away from the fast foods plus I will be doing so many shows my weight will regulate great at my goal weight..

My tip for this forum is "Go hard or go back to fast food!"

no one said it is gonna be easy! So I am burning calories like its a job :puke:

So your point is that it doesn't matter if you're healthy or not as long as you're skinny?

Yeah, you're not going to get much support for that here.

when I hit my goal then I can add all the natural foods and healthy eating but trust
And you'll gain back all the weight you lost from this insane diet because you still won't have any idea how to be healthy or eat moderately.

My tip for this forum is "Go hard or go back to fast food!"
And this forum's tip for you is: "Don't be stupid."

What you're doing is dangerous, unhealthy, and will not lead to permanent weight loss.

Obviously you don't really care, so I'm pretty much done with this thread. Just don't expect support for what you're doing here - this isn't that kind of forum.

Since when is 1500 calories unhealthy!

1 Morning-star Garden burger View attachment 11603
packs

VEGETABLES (MUSHROOMS, WATER CHESTNUTS, ONIONS, CARROTS, GREEN BELL PEPPERS, RED BELL PEPPERS, BLACK OLIVES), TEXTURED VEGETABLE PROTEIN (SOY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE, WHEAT GLUTEN, WATER FOR HYDRATION), EGG WHITES, COOKED BROWN RICE (WATER, BROWN RICE), ROLLED OATS, CORN OIL, CALCIUM CASEINATE, SOY SAUCE (WATER, SOYBEANS, SALT, WHEAT), CONTAINS TWO PERCENT OR LESS OF ONION POWDER, CORNSTARCH, SALT, HYDROLYZED VEGETABLE PROTEIN (CORN, SOY AND WHEAT), AUTOLYZED YEAST EXTRACT, NATURAL FLAVORS FROM NON-MEAT SOURCES, SUGAR, SOY PROTEIN ISOLATE, SPICES, GARLIC POWDER, DEXTROSE, JALAPEÑO PEPPER POWDER, CELERY EXTRACT.

And that is all in one Pattie, to me its just funny how people try to dismiss you when you are doing something different than everyone else. I get 2 servings of Vegetables in just one burger that in no way is unhealthy.

Sometimes it might be easier to listen to people who are actually dropping pounds! I was reading some of the actual diets the people from biggest loser use and its funny how different it was from the actual booklets they put out!! those people are burning so many calories its unreal!!.

I said nothing about being unhealthy! you just assume that if I am not eating a bunch of food all day I am in bad health. I am willing to show you my results but I have not seen yours so that only leads me to believe how wrong you are!!

Sometimes it might be easier to listen to people who are actually dropping pounds!
Yup. And I've lost 80 lbs and kept it off through a combination of exercise and healthy eating.

When you've lost weight and kept it off for 2 years, come back and let's talk. :)

Ten pounds is a lot to you obviously. It is not a lot to us. Maybe two weeks counts as a time span for keeping it off too...

Impressive!!! (NOT)

Maybe you should listen to people that have actually DROPPED a worthwhile number of pounds and kept it off for a while...

Also that nice little list liked to mention SALT didnt it. So good it mentioned it twice... SUGAR was nice to see too.

As long as you know that you are harming your health we can leave you and our conscience is clear.

We would hate for people to be influenced into thinking that what you were doing made any sense.

is it gonna be that much harder for you to have some fruit instead of processed food for breakfast/lunch/dinner? i.e for breakfast have a banana, u only have to peel it!

those people here have given you very good advice mate, it's not about losing weight fast, it's about having a healthy body. and you'll be surprised how many people who are considered "thin" still have unhealthy bodies and health problems because of their diet.

a healthy body is not measured-solely- by size.

cheers

Also I'm just curious about what this:
Come on our Surgeon General is overweight!
has to do with anything at all?

Throwing in red herring statements doesn't make your plan any healthier.

I got the plan from my best friend Stephen Jay who lost over 150 pounds on it, and that was 4 years ago, and he lost all the weight in under a year. That is the reason it makes me mad on ur dismissals. :cuss: there are so many ways to loose weight, and the only reason I picked up weight was working with a group of woman that ate constantly while being on a diet the entire time, ha

Omega : you say its harming my health ! that is just a blank statement my diet is 1500 calories and it works and it makes me feel good, I come from a religion where we used to do a lot of fasting and fruit fasting we did this my entire life and I maintained a perfect weight and was beyond healthy!

the reason I eat protein instead of a banana headed out the door is just common sense ! I ran 4 miles this morning and trust me a banana would have left me on the floor in convulsions

Trust me in less than 6 months I will have uploaded pictures of my killer abs! ive done it before I am a boxer and I know the difference between snail weight loss and getting the job done.

:sifone: And congrats on the 80 pounds ! that is a very good job and you shouldn't hide it with a profile picture of ur eyeball !!

Ok. Let's get serious and real here. You say you're eating 1500 calories per day. I put your diet as listed in your first post into thedailyplate.com and came up with this:

Cals 910
Fat 38g
Cholest 215mg
Sodium 967mg
Carbs 108g
Sugars 17g
Fiber 22g
Protein 45g

The only thing there that is healthy is the fiber. The seemingly low sodium and fat numbers aren't that low when you take them as percentages of total calories. The percentages work out to a macro division of 45% carbs / 18% protein / 36% fat.

That's way low in protein and way high in fat. You're not even meeting the RDA for protein intake, which is low anyway for someone who is working out and trying to maintain lean muscle while losing fat - you should be aiming for 1g of protein per 1 lb of lean bodyweight. And fat should be around 20% - 25% of your overall diet.

I know the difference between snail weight loss and getting the job done.
If your only goal is to drop weight fast (including losing a good bit of lean muscle), then you're right, you know what you're talking about.

If your goal is to be healthy, build lean muscle, and shed fat, then you're being stupidly unhealthy.

Really and seriously, this is all I'm going to say on this any more. You obviously don't give a damn about being healthy at all. The only reason I post this here is so come newbie doesn't stumble across your thread and think it's a good think to do. It's not. It's foolish and misguided and unhealthy.

I hope no one takes your advice as to the best way to lose weight.

Fast is not always good. In a whole lot of things.

Yes my diet is to get me thin fast! Although I weighed 290 most of it was pure muscle I am a heavy lifter.

remember I corrected you about that being my full diet because its not that was just one day of eating. I usually snack on baby Tomatoes and many other veg if I get hungry ! I drink most of my fruit because the Acid in most of our fruits make me sick.

Weight loss to me is about being healthy plus for my job I have to be thin or believe it or not its a breach of contract. so during performance season I am on my game!.

I am just saying that you should not knock my hustle ! I am not knocking urs ,

Omega ! I read in the other forum how you said u had saggin skin! well the way I loose weight by the end I dont look like a deflated balloon with my diet and extreme workout everything comes together perfect so 10 pounds does mean more to someone with my shape.

I am just saying dont knock it until you tried it !

most people who complain about p90x have never completed it thats basically how I feel about my meatless plan! you just dont like it cause it sounds hard .

I am just saying that you should not knock my hustle !
If someone comes on the site pushing an unhealthy method of weight loss, then I'm going to say something. If you think that's "knocking your hustle" ... well, whatever.

you just dont like it cause it sounds hard .
Uh, no, but thanks for playing. I don't like it because it's an unhealthy plan, an unhealthy rate of loss, and poorly balanced.

"Hard" is recreating your entire lifestyle and learning to be healthy for life, rather than fad dieting yourself skinny. You have already said that YOU don't want to make those changes ... so who here has a problem with something being "hard"?

"I dont look like a deflated balloon with my diet and extreme workout"

i find it very entertaining that someone will join a forum only to insult many many members in just the first few minutes.

obvious troll is obvious.

out.

:angelsad2: I did not mean to offend anyone! I thought the forum was supposed to be about different peoples opinions!

If I offended you I am very sorry!

I'm kind of a newbie as well, although I lurk here often. While some people like to act like they own the forum, this space is for YOU. My feeling is that your diary is your own space to record whatever you wish. So don't feel bad about logging your personal diet and exercise, etc.... There are some here who won't support you, but you should keep on keepin' on. You know your own body and how you react to certain foods.

Although I agree with the general sentiment that you should add some more veggies (I like to toss lettuce or celery or even raw zucchini into things randomly), I'm certainly not going to pass judgment on your own diary or diet plan. I'm not about negativity, so I wish you GOOD LUCK!!

Thank god!

Thank you Kells !!!! That is what I was trying to say, its basically like if I didn't say exactly what they wanted to hear I am a bad guy! I have added steamed Veggie's to the mix and I am losing so much weight its unreal and all I get in a weight loss forum is negativity !

Have you ever heard of the crazy "Cabbage Diet" well my wife did it twice a year ago to kick off her weight loss! well everyone around her was so negative and gave the same spill as my diet about how she is going to gain it all back, Well my wife wasn't that overweight to begin with but she lost all of the weight she needed and now she is tone! and its been over a year!

The reason why there is so many diets out there is because some of them actually work for people!
I have never picked weight up after loosing this is the first time I let myself go my entire life I have been thin so I know how to maintain a good workout and not eat a bunch of food ....

Well thanks again Kells for the freedom of blogging ! I was about to loose hope in this forum so many dictators

:cheers2:
