Lose weight by eating breakfast

GRRR. im still not doing well with breakfast. whats wrong with me? i tried it a few times and it made me fall asleep. i just cant eat in the morning it makes me too tired to function.

I feel the same way when I eat breakfast. I Can go all day without eating if I miss breakfast... but that's not good b/c we have to eat our daily points/calories and keep it spread throughout the day. If I skip breakfast, I don't eat all day, then by bedtime I am starving and binge. It's a vicious cycle.

I mean, we all have to eat. And the problem is we(or I) just can't seem to moderate it. It's like with me, I either eat a ton, or not enough. Ugh, I'll never forget what made me realize I was overeating. Someone told me "you know, I eat to live. YOU live to eat." At first I thought they were just being mean, but now I know they were right, and weren't trying to be mean.

i love breakfast...... and snack... lunch...snack...dinner....snack.....

breakfast gets me going... and I like spending the morning with my daughter... she finally likes oatmeal... yummm

I'm with you Christina. I love All Meals! And all foods at ANY time of the day! hehe
But I love cereal-hot or cold. I eat it all the time. It is usually my evening snack. I have a question, Does anybody stop eating a couple hours before bedtime. I hear that this really works, but I just can't seem to do it.

I am with Christina and honeybee...I love all meals..snacks and everything in between. I work 12 hour days so I usually don't eat dinner til after 8. But I do try to just eat a bowl of cereal and a piece of fruit.

I have always had a hard time eating breakfast because Im busy with my little girls but now I make sure I get breakfast so I can spread my calories throughout the day evenly.

yep! if i eat breakfast i am hungrier that day and end up eating more than i normally would. it does not make me eat less later like they suggest :( so i figure i might as well skip it and save the calories for later. i ate a piece of string cheese today tho for breaky. if i ate any more than that, i'd probably want to lay down and take a nap.

I don't get hungrier when I eat breakfast, I just have trouble eating in the mornings. It makes me feel sick. I know its a learned response, because I had about 15 years of not eating breakfast, and if I did it was a chocolate bar or a milkshake, or some diet drink, depending on what diet my mom was on at the time or how rushed I was. When I hit my late teens and started trying to eat right for the first time, I couldn't eat a solid breakfast.

I've got to the point that I can manage a single scrambled egg, or a couple of spoons of yogurt over half a banana, but any more than that and I feel queezy (except when I'm hung over, then I like a big breakfast... but I guess I sleep later in this case LOL).

I 'm trying to get into the habit now of having a decent healthy snack mid morning so I don't lose energy all at once at around mid day.

Hm... I never noticed that! But I did notice that I don`t eat much all day, if I don`t eat breackfast!
Still, I`m the same hungry at the evening with or withough breackfast, that`s no difference.

Eating breakfast is definately something to get used to! If I had a couple of hours to kill, no problem eating a big breakfast. But that doesn't happen often, so what I usaully do: I wait till 20 minutes before I have to leave and then make a bowl of oatmeal and a smoothie. I eat the oatmeal, drink half of the smoothie and take the other half on the road with me and finish it up in the car. I REALLY don't like vegtables or fruit, so the trying to eat "healthy" is a big challenge. My biggest saving grace is the smoothie. I don't use any ice, its all fruit. I throw in some OJ/Pineapple juice, 1 banana, a bunch of strawberries and frozen cut up cantaluope (for the ice). It winds up coming out to 22 oz. The best thing about it also, is that I was told its NOT good to work out on a full stomach, it harder for the stomach to digest.. If you eat solid food, you should an hour before working out. If your "meal" was liquid, your OK, just don'y do it imediately before your work out. After working out I drink a slimfast and then I'm not starving by the time I can get some lunch.
But I have to agree, I eat more when I eat breakfast. Although I don't go crazy.

I have been eating breakfast for a week now. And am only just finding that my hunger is starting to even out. IT has taken some effort on my part but I found that I was able to get through to lunchtime today without snacking.

I think it is the same as with other things, it takes a week or two for you to adjust.

I normally don't eat after dinner. I eat dinner around 6 or so, sometimes as late as 9 depending on work, and usually nothing thereafter. The way I see it, most of my moving around is done for the day. I'm exhausted after work usually, so I eat, go to the gym and then that's it. Breakfast covers first half of work, lunch the 2nd, and dinner covers the rest of the day. Every now and then I have a slice of bread or something when I get home from the gym, but that is usually it.

If I eat late at night, I get very hungry in the morning. Then I eat a huge breakfast, and get more hungry by lunch. Meaning bigger lunch, and then 2nd servings at dinner. Then again, I need something later at night because I'm soooo hungry, and there I have it going. It's not worth it. Better go to bed without the feeling of being full. Drinking a lot seems to help though.

I think the most important thing is not to be eating sugary things because they tend to make you want to eat more, sooner.
