Whether eating breakfast directly affects your metabolism or not, it can help maintain a healthy metabolism by the other benefits resulting in eating breakfast.
Also, a meal high in proteins, fiber, and healthy carbs is much better then one high in carbs from sugar, and saturated fat, IMO.
