Just adding some more to this thread. Give it time - the loose skin does fade away a fair bit!
Ive been sitting at the same weight for about 6 months or so now, and the skin has most definatly shrunk a fair bit and continues to do so. Ill still need surgery but ill need a whole lot less than i thought i would!

Glad to hear it! Keep in there, you're doing something a lot of people are going to really look up to... hanging skin or not! Thanks guysThink i was having a small panic abt something really silly!! Mal ur totally right that im tormenting myself with maybes - a completely pointless thing to do! Think i will follow all the advice and hope for the best.
I like the idea of a badge of honour! And you're totally right that the health benefits of losing weight far outdo any annoying bits of skin! Im thinking a bit more positively today, so thanks for making me rethink this!
well i was 326-330ish when i started, im now about 160ish. I took a 6 month break for a while there and a LOT of the skin has started to finally shrink back. I expect i will need some removed by surgery but even ive been surprised and how much it has shrunk back already.
