Ok, I'm not sure if I buy what this person is saying and I am going to throw in my own personal experience here as an example.
Starting at the age of 10 I started gaining weight..when I was 21 I weighed about 190lbs (I'm a 5.2' female by the way). I lost over 70lbs very steadily exercising and calorie counting..on average I lost about 2-3lbs a week and it took about a year. I was left with a saggy stomach and boobs that looked like a sock with a potato in each!! I maintained the weight loss for about 11 years. (By the way all through the weight loss period and beyond, to this day, I exercise every day).
Three years ago I couldn't take my saggy skin anymore. I'd maintained my weight loss for 11 years and I wanted a flat stomach.. so I went and had a tummy tuck and breast augmentation. After the operation and the swelling went down I had a stomach you could bounce quarters off. (I gained 30lbs in the past 2 years as I started working from home but I still have a stomach you can bounce quarters off). My point is, I did it 'right' I took my time with the weight loss, exercised and I still had the skin. Surgery was my only option. My surgeon told me that no amount of exercise would help me. Just my little story, but surgery wasn't something I rushed into...it was 11 years following my weight loss of watching my weight, exercising and I did not bounce back.
I just thought others might want to hear my side of things
