Looking to tone but not sure exactly how.

I am 6'1" 171 pounds. I used to be 165 in highschool and in good shape, but still never had a sixpack. I played sports all year round but never did ab work. I am 18 and a freshman in college(prolly explains the new 6 pounds ;) ). Anyway i am about to start a new workout and wondered if u guys had any sugestions. Ok before school i run for 25 minutes which is juxt over 3 miles at the pace i run. At night i do sets of the bicycle ab exercise, regular situps and leg lifts. I do sets of push-ups and curls. Should i do this everyday or every other day. As for diet my brother was tellin me lots of lean protein and salads/veges. My goal is to get a six pack and have good definition all over my body. I guess i want to lower my body fat % and gain muscle. Anything i am missing or could improve on?

Sounds like you have a good start. Cardio, weights, rest and nutrition are all needed for overall body fat reduction.

If you work those arm muscles today, they need to rest tomorrow. That is the same for all muscles- including abs. So doing crunches everyday is not optimal.

You will get a lean cut look by doing two things: reducing overall body fat (as you mentioned) and increasing lean muscle mass. Continue your push ups, ab work, running, etc and eat really well. Your brother seems to have a good plan :)

Good luck.
