No, no real crossfit. Played a lot of basketball to burn a lot of calories. My hope is the weight training will help.
The reality is that "toning" is simply a function of losing body fat. If you feel like you're the "right" weight, but still feel like you need a lot of "toning" work, you can do two things:
1) Ask yourself how "toned" you or anyone else can realistically be, and if you're there already, don't worry about it.
2) Concentrate on redistributing your weight so that you have a higher concentration of muscle to fat.
I'm going for "2." It involves a weight training program, combined with dieting and a little bit of cardio. The idea is to lose weight very, very slowly (and thereby lose fat), while doing the best I can with either adding or at least maintaining strength (thereby adding or at least holding onto my muscle). If I reach a point where my fat is low enough, but I lack the muscle I'd like, I switch the diet from a small deficit to a small surplus and start adding weight.
But I haven't made it there yet. The reality is that at just under 6 feet, a weight of 155, while thin, is perfectly healthy and I could theoretically drop down that low without too much concern. I'd actually like to weigh more than that, but if that's where I have to drop to get rid of all the fat, well I can always add muscle after.
