Login Problem

Is anybody else having problems logging in? When I key in my name and password, it logs me in, then takes me straight back to the login page as if I never logged in. I can click on the forum button and post in the forums, but I can't see any of my subscribed threads or anything.

Reported similar using contact us option. Hopefully be sorted soon.

Yeah, I've been having the problem since Friday. Thankfully, traffic on this site is low, so you don't really lose threads quickly if you have to find them where you posted them.

are people still having problems? I made some changes to try and speed things up, but I'm not sure what it was that might have caused problems.

I am still, yes. Cannot access subscribed threads and when I post things, they don't show up unless I refresh the page.

There are several threads I cannot view at all, Crazy Old Man's journal "Dont Try this at Home", for example. If I go to the last page, it is a step back in time to 10/4. I can't see any recent posts, my notifications count goes to 4 (which is where it was on 10/4) and should I do a browser refresh, it starts a cycle of the page refreshing automatically over and over until I have to shut the browser. This happened with my own Journal thread Sure! and I had to start a new one.

Logging out and back in and clearing browser cache and cookies did nothing. I typically use IE9, if I switch to Firefox, I can see other threads, but given some work I do is best done in IE9, I'd prefer it work.

Something that may help fault finding.
Clicking on the quick links\ todays posts returns nothing while clicking on the here hyperlink to see last 24 hours posts from new posts area works perfectly.

Fault finding in your own code is always 'interesting' that's why testers are such a valuable asset. My job often uncovers errors that have been missed by system developers, unfortunately by the time they get to me they're usually a real pain to fix and I have to code to compensate historically. Guess you could say I feel the pain a bit too.

I was having trouble with the forum being essentially frozen in time on October 5 for a few days. It just took clearing my cookies to fix it.

Cookies didn't fix my problems with IE - I've been using firefox instead on my PC. Hmm, no idea if I have the issue on the ipad, guess I'll find out next when I'm on the road with it.

i'm going to go through and try to change back everything i did to make the forum faster. I'm not sure if I'll get everything, but please keep posting until things return back to normal.

Me too - things are working normally for me and thanks for fixing it.
