Liz's Diary

As much as this may embarass me, I'm gonna give it a try. :)

I'm 5'7.
My current weight is 258 pounds.
My goal weight is 170.

I plan on cutting my calorie intake back even further, but not too much. I currently intake around 2000 calories a day.

Also, since I cannot get out of the house and do it, and the kids won't let me do it, I figure I should do a lot more house cleaning to make up for lost excercise.

cheers to you having a clean house and a healthy body :)

sounds like you're taking a smart approach you and I hav eno doubt you'll be successful.

welcome to your diary and have fun while you are here :D

Hello! Welcome to the site!

There is no need to be embarassed. Everyone on this site knows and understands what you feel like. I know I do. I'm 5'5 and I weighed 225. But this site was full of people I could talk to and I finally found the support that I had needed for so long. Welcome again!

After reading a bit more of the forum, I feel a lot better about myself. I can already say that I'm glad I found this place. :)

Hi Lizmk21!

How does the saying go? The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step? You've definitely come to the right place to take that first step.

Don't be too daunted by the task in front of you. With persistence and determination you will get there!

Something I've found very useful is to weigh all my foods and record my daily calorie intake in a diary. Figure out how many calories you're burning every day and make sure that you consume less. Work out what your BMR rating is by clicking the following link:

Your BMR rating is the amount of calories your body uses every day if you don't do any activities. Essentially it's the minimum amount of calories you burn in 24 hours.

I would also recommend getting an exercise bike if you can't get out of the house very easily. I suffer from agoraphobia and I have great difficulty going outside the house so I bought an exercise bike and I use it every day. The weight is falling off!

I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks for the link. I've never heard of a BMR calculator before.

An exercise bike is a good idea. I wonder if I can talk the husband into buying one... :D
