little brother

i have a kid brother....hes 14 yrs old, about 5'4-5'5.... 110 lbs....ive been wanting for him to start lifting but i dont know if its safe because ive heard that younger kids should not lift weights etc. he's basically a skinny build...not too tough...just wanted to knaw if its safe for him to start lifting.
 
Yes, it is safe. Resistance training is safe at any age. The only possible problem is when someone tries to lift their maximum single repetition weight (1RM). This can result in injury (at any age), if you do not use proper form.
