Liquid Protein stuff sold over the radio

Alright - I don't know if you guys get this on your radio stations, but it bugs me no end. The add is for a mix of liquid protein and aloe vera and you take one tablespoon at bed time and they promise it will cause you loose 2 pants sizes in 2 months without exercise or diet.

Yeah, right ... and I'm sure they would like to sell me a nice little bridge in Brooklyn too.

Here's the website.

This is NOT an endorsement. I'm asking for help to find any info - any negatives, dangers, etc of this particular product. They don't name the company that makes it on the web site (go figure) but maybe some of you know what it is. I want to get this quackery off the air here and it will help if I have exact product information to report to the FTC. I'm not about to waste my money on it (I have better things to spend $100 on).

Thanks for any help, guys.

God Bless,
mik

Aloe Vera in Weight Loss:

Obesity has become an epidemic in our times. Up till now weight loss remedies had numerous problems. Weight loss diets used to involve distressing diets and workouts that involved a major disruption of daily living. A greater problem was to maintain the ideal body weight for any length of time. An increasing appreciation of nature’s potential and relentless research into age-old wisdom has finally found an ideal weight loss supplement: Aloe Vera.

Aloe Vera is increasingly being recognized as one of the best agents to promote weight loss. The Aloe Vera gel is an effective agent not only to reduce but also to stabilize the body mass index. The Aloe Vera gel action on body weight is multi-pronged, making it suitable for varied population groups and individuals. Aloe Vera has something to offer to everyone.

Aloe Vera stimulates the metabolic rate in the liver cells helping us to burn more energy. The activity of each cell rises and more heat is generated. The increasing amount of fuel required for this task is derived from fat and carbohydrate stores of the body. This has a direct effect on the body mass index. Thus taking Aloe Vera supplements is akin to doing multiple workouts over a week.

Aloe Vera also has a high content of "Collagen Protein". Supplementing Aloe Vera in the diet increases protein intake. Proteins are difficult to digest and the body spends more energy assimilating them into the system. This additional expenditure of energy is well suited for someone who wants to exchange flab for brawn. Imagine a supplement that builds you up while burning your fat stores at the same time.

As mentioned above, Aloe Vera decreases the transit time that food spends in the intestine. The faster food moves the less is absorbed, enhancing the above actions of Aloe Vera on the body mass index. Little wonder then that some of the names ascribed to this medicinal herb over the years include "The Dietary Plant" and "The Harmony Remedy"!

So you've got a protein supplement working in accordance with a laxative... umm - you do the math :)

Ok, thanks - that's th ekind of info I needed. I didn't even think to google aloe vera and weight loss together.

Does anyone know what company produces this?

God Bless,
mik

Yeah, there are just so many warning bells that go off when I go to that site - they play her adds on a local station 20, 30 times a day and I just can't listen to it any more because I end up screaming at the radio "IT'S A SCAM, CAN'T YOU SEE THAT?!!!?". "Research shows" this, "our studies" show that - and maybe it's just this one chick selling snake oil out of her basement in West-By-God-Virginia.

Now, after I get my nap in, I'm going to hit the FTC's site and see what I need to do to register a complaint, because they are making some pretty astounding claims about this protein and laxative concoction.

ok heres the information on the bottel.
Compaines names appears be to EYI and the products called COLORAD PM
ingrediants: Sodium, Protien, Aloe Vera Leaf, Collagen Hydrolsate,Oxygenated Water, glycerin, Sodium Benzoate, natural lemonade and orange flavor, citric acid

Now before going off and complaining to FTC heres some things you may want to consider. Have you personally evaluated the product to validate or rebute it claims?
The comercials for his product atleast the ones Ive hear are all consumer testimonials. This company sent the product to the radio jockeys, let them try and if they liked it provided free comercials for the product (pretty clever actually) In doing this they are no longer the ones held reliable if they are selling a fraud as you claim. The disk jockeys are on the one promoting the product and they are the ones who would be the subject of your complaint. Now, being skeptical as you are I called one of the more prominent jockeys and asked about the product and the commercials and she could not say enough great thing about this stuff. Against my better judgement I went to the sight and placed an order.
Heres what I can tell you:
Pros: About Half the price of most other diet supplements, Most Ive seen go for about $80.00 for a month supply. This stuff is about $40.00
No auto shipping. This is usually a warning sign for me when a company auto ships and bills.
No pushy telephone operators. When calling some compaines trying to obtain information about the product all you get is an operator whos sole job is to sell you on the product. It seems like every question you ask gets the response "Sir Im not familiar with those asspects of this product but if I can get your credit card number we get your order processed as soon as possible" Not here. If the operator was not an actual user of the product she was pretty darn convincing and wasnt pushy at all trying to get me to place an order.
Its working as claimed After only two weeks of use, with out changing my routine of food intake or exercise, Im loosing weight, 1.5 inches around my waist. Im sleeping better through the night too. My wife is using the product also and with the same results but in all fairness shes complaining to be more tired through out the day and has started napping during the day when she can. Im guessing this maybe because she can not get a full night of sleep like I can and this stuff really makes you sleep better when you lay down. Of course the product makes the obvoius claim that lowering your calorie intake and increasing your exercise will increase the effectiveness of the product.
Cons: Doesn't taste great Its got some added flavor that makes it taste SOMETHING like pink lemonade but its sticky and leaves an aftertaste. Any one else reading this and decides to try the stuff makes sure you have a glass of ice water to wash it down with....
Strickt guidlines on how to use the stuff as in no eating 3hrs before going to sleep. My wife and I dont usually get home till 6pm or later sometimes... dinner by 7pm. So that mean staying up till 10:30, 11pm sometimes before you can take the supplement. Not good for a supplement that really makes you sleep.

For right now thats all I can tell you about this stuff. I intend to get a second months supply and this time come up with a regular (though light) work out routine, and change my diet a little bit and see if much of an impact the three together have. If you want Ill let you know how that goes.

Ill also add this... In trying to research any claims about this stuff being a fraud or scam this was the only site I could find. and even this wasn't from a user of the product claiming to have been ripped off.
