Lift, Train, Fitness

At least he has you for a mom who can help with that. A lot of people don't understand how important it is to increase strength if you're going to increase (or already have a higher) range of motion. You need to be able to support the joint.

Very true. That´s where clients sometimes get stroppy: they don´t get that there´s no treatment to resolve some problems long-term without them putting in the work long-term. You don´t have to keep seeing me but you have to stay on the ball.

coaching and lifting went well last night. Although my son knows exactly what to do in the gym he still prefers to have me coach him, which I don't mind, he is almost 19 and old enough to make his own decisions.

had a few too many carbs yesterday 40 grams is double my normal limit.

feeling good this morning, recovery has been good, so almost time to move away from warmup weights on squat but frustration continues to build with not being able to train fully.

may have to plan a leg press session and have somebody to load for me, at least I could then move some meaningful weight.

hubby just called, looks like we will be spending Australia Day at a friends place playing Talisman, YAY for board games, may even get a game of Waterdeep or a game of Dominion :D

Apart from leg work, is there any kind of exercise that´d give you the same release at lifting without putting as much pressure on your scar tissue?

I have been able to do some limited upper body work but I have got to resist the urge to do anything with the right arm other than physio exercises it would be too easy to do more damage while the pain killers are in effect.

although I have never been officially diagnosed with the conditions that my sons have (ASD, ADHD and PDD-NOS) I had many of the same "symptoms" growing up and still do as an adult, without a physical outlet I am not very good to be around.

Yeaaaahhhhh. Gotta be careful exercising with an injury while on pain killers. How's the physio going?

Pfftt physio gave up and thinks I need surgery but to keep doing the exercises given, GP thinks it will still heal and won't refer to surgery at this point.

had a good night (hmm it is 4 am) board games with friends went well but does make me think "what is normal ?" when almost all of those around the table have some sort of diagnosis for a neurological disorder ?

I had just gone back to bed after the morning feed, but was then disturbed before getting back to sleep by a kerfuffle in the chook yard, got out there soon enough to chase off a bloody fox :(

oh well early start for the day, Guen has had another feed, now to go and make sure hubby isn't doing anything stupid with MY chainsaw lol

usually too hot to sleep during the day at the moment and we need to get the 4 X 100 foot blue gums cut up so we can drive up to the house again. we had to get them cut down as they were a threat to the house but a lot of work to chop up and move.

I was dripping in sweat after an hour of using the saw while hubby lifted and dragged logs. I can do the saw work because most of the weight of the saw is held in my left hand but hauling logs is to much for my right elbow.

it is only just gone past 8 am and already too hot to be working outside much

Chainsawing in this heat Tru? Wow!
The big black cloud we had yesterday vanished as quickly as it appeared & didn't produce even a drop of rain. It is so dry here. It's scary. I can't imagine what it's like up there!

supposed to be cooler today but don't have the energy to any more chopping today, there is a hell of a lot of timber in 4 large blue gums. The cost of having them cut down was not bad at only $1000 but would have been many thousands more for them to cut up and take away as well, not worth it when it is hard work you can do yourself. Still yet to find someone that wants to bring in a portable mill to cut the main trunks into big slabs for furniture.

Furniture from an old tree stump sounds awesome.

And wood chopping/hauling is hard work. As someone who helped her dad cut and move wood throughout my entire childhood, you have my sympathies for doing that work in the kind of heat you've got. We at least waited until fall/winter to do ours.

Being a sub tropical climate there is no real cool time and it is still early in cyclone season, and would rather have the trees on the ground than being a threat in a big storm.

The main trunks are straight and over a metre in diameter of dense red hardwood timber without much in the way of knots. Even once all the branches are cut the trunks are too big to even drag with a tractor so are great for furniture but a pain to move when they are lying across the driveway.
