Lift, Train, Fitness

I say bat guano in tea. Which was actually supposed to be there (tcm) but didn't have to be listed because it was bought as a supplement instead of medication or food.

there is sooo much stuff in supplements which is passed of as natural. Just because something is "Natural" does not mean we should be ingesting it !

not much happening diet wise for me at the moment, bit of a busy afternoon, going to be driving a few hours down the coast to get another peahen possibly 2 both breeding age, I need to balance the ostentation as I have more males then females leading to fights.

eating continues to be good, weight gain continues to be slow, which is a good thing, pregnancy is not an excuse to stuff yourself, yes food needs are slightly increased but not to the point of feeding a football team lol.

I have been diagnosed as having GD, stupid pregnancy hormones, readings are great and well under target numbers during the day but my morning fasting numbers are 0.5 over where they should be, but at least it is not permanent. The cause of GD is hormones released by the placenta to inhibit insulin, unfortunately the hormones are inhibiting insulin to much so after giving birth there will be no more placenta and no more GD so no more insulin injections.

feeling a bit better about the stuff happening with my son, a fair number of people are willing to give statements to support him and his boss is going to give him a character reference. His boss told me yesterday that my son is one of the best workers he has ever had, and is going to give him more responsibility in the brewery (new craft beer brewery attached to restaurant and bar). I know he wanted to become a chef but Brewer sounds like a good option for an 18 year old.

Definitely good news about the people sticking up for your son. He seems to be doing very well Tru. Good for him!

Breweries are bad for me...

Nonetheless, brewing is an art form as much as a science and someone with that skill set is always going to be in demand. I'm not sure how it is in your neck of the woods, but around here craft breweries are a hot ticket and small brew pubs and restaurants are all over the place.

small craft breweries are popular in the cities, not so much here in regional Queensland but there is certainly a demand for experienced brewers interstate and the demand is growing.

It supposed to still be winter but the temp forecast for today is over 30c, I struggle in the heat and pregnancy makes it worse, we should not be getting late spring temps this early.

That is SO wrong Tru! Today's max here is meant to be 14. I'll send some cool wind your way xo

Urgh, I do not envy you for a climate like that. We´ll go over 30C today as well but at least it´s the height of the summer.

not sure how hot it ended up here at home today, but hubby said it was 34 in the car park at work today.

I have another scan scheduled on monday, otherwise not much happening today.

I writing a comment in another diary it has made me realise that the side effect of being anti supplements due to the contamination factor has forced my to build up much more knowledge of how to overcome nutritional imbalances with real food and not just popping a pill to fix it

I know most members here have zero understanding of a properly formulated low carb diet and I don't talk about it often because it goes against "common knowledge" unfortunately soooo much common knowledge is based on poor science and myth along with a lot of professionals in the health field who are sooo set in their ways that improved science is ignored or they are simply not trained like most general practice doctors.

It is good that the Endocrinologist I am seeing is one who is into the up to date science and the health benefits of low carb especially for some of the conditions commonly seen on this forum, but she should not have a need to tell people to ignore what local dietitians have to say. I am lucky here in Australia that i don't need to get a second mortgage on my house just to see a highly qualified specialist doctor, I feel sorry for many Americans who do not have this privilege.

I'll happily admit I haven't got a clue about the finer points of low carb and I'm very glad you're on hand with advice.

I've learned a bit about low carb eating and nutritional balance, especially since I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. To be honest, the toughest time I have with it is not the diet/lifestyle, but the idea that I can't seem to entirely get it across to my wife. She wanted to go out for lunch when we were riding the other day. She had a craving for fried clams. While she doesn't share the same glucose issues I do, it makes it tough to go to a restaurant with all these amazing smells around me, and just order the baked fish with no breadcrumbs.

on an intellectual level my husband understands low carb and understands that it helps me with my allergies and mood and also helps our sons stay much more emotionally stable with their Autism and ADHD but i don't think he will ever understand what it is like when he cracks open a can of fizzy drink or chows into something equally sugar filled when sitting next to us. Although I don't crave these things, having somebody offer them while they are eating them next to you is a little frustrating. Over the last 22 years both out diets and bad habits have changed and improved, I am more calm and tolerant of others and he has been able to quit smoking (tobacco and green). We are both healthy for our age but hubby sometimes forgets that because he only has half a small intestine that he can get away with over indulging in junk without gaining weight because his body simply won't absorb the nutrients in the food. On the other hand he is grateful for the fitness help over the years, as it has allowed his 50 year old body to cope with playing football (soccer) with teens and young men in their 20s he is the oldest regular player in the comp.

with all the problems that comes with having Autistic kids, we are also grateful that they are all very fit and healthy, they don't smoke and generally don't drink (they might have 1 drink every 6-12 months) 2 are working despite the unemployment rate in our area being one of the highest in the country and 1 is a full time student studying archaeology at uni.

On a forum note: I just clicked "like" on your post and I got a screen asking me if I really wanted to like that post. Is that new?
