Lift, Train, Fitness

Not much happening today, ordered a couple of second hand books online today to add to my training library, one is for martial arts conditioning and the other contains a heap of strength band exercises.

I was thinking of getting some strength training bands - I used them in physical therapy for both my rotator cuffs and I really liked working with them!

for personal use I have a selection of light bands for rehab work but also I have a couple of 50 kg rated bands for training.

Spent time tidying my study desk this arvo, it had become a junk pile lol. This also meant re-organising some of my fitness books. this is a mix of basic level books through to more complex biomechanics and a selection of sport specific books for optimising strength training for individual sports, Also on the shelf are massage books and sports nutrition books.

Today Will be clear liquids only as I start drinking the prep for my colonoscopy tomorrow.

On the up side, as I try to get back into competition shape I am down 1 kg form last week and have a bit of an informal fat loss competition with the gym owner, I am ahead at the moment and motivated to stay ahead while she is motivated to catch me.

:) For someone as competitive as you that is going to be great motivation. Best of luck with the colonoscopy.

The doc removed a polyp which was sent for biopsy, will find out results at next GP visit but prior to the being put under the doc said my chance of cancer was around 3% considering the timing of my last colonoscopy.

Recovery was better than last time, when I got a blood clot from the canula.

the peace of mind having that having the procedure every couple of years give mum in her final stages of the disease is important. For anybody who considers this a horrible procedure have never watched a family member dying from bowel cancer.

We would be crazy to put our health at risk because of the unpleasantness of these procedures. Did you watch Insight on Tuesday night, Tru? It was an eye opener.

only saw the start of the show, I think most people do not understand how bad and how preventable it can be.

by the time people feel sick it is usually to late.

I've seen enough clients who were in the final stages to know that pretty much any procedure would be preferable. But Hank Green made a Vlogbrothers video about his last colonoscopy a couple off weeks back and it will from now on be my standard answer to people who are putting off theirs.

Almost finished my medical diploma which will free up more time for the Bachelor of Sport and exercise science (assuming I get accepted next month)

Still having bursa issues but get to see my Doc next week.

I probably should note, I have not been on here a lot, very stressed at the moment, mum is in pain and very weak, and has made me co-executor of her will with my uncle. Just trying to keep my mind busy. two of my boys are struggling watching their grandmother go down hill so quickly (they visit on a regular basis while I am thousands of KM away)
