Rise and shine, coffee lovers, because today’s fact is for you. There is some evidence of a small protective effect from caffeine against developing depression. One study estimated that the optimal amount of coffee to drink to capitalise on this effect is 400mL, which contains approximately 160mg of caffeine (depending on how you like your coffee…).
At last a dietary habit I have gotten right for many years! 400 ml is pretty close to what I have had every day for the last 30 or 40 years.

I like your facts to go with your push ups, makes for interesting reading.

The one on suicide was interesting, we've had that problem in our family so its kind of close to home.

Just finished coaching at the gym, still have a few pushups to do but feeling a bit sore in the Quads tonight.

Just finished watching this short Documentary

Everyone has their own personal 400 kilo, it is not just about lifting weights.

Today’s target is 230 push-ups. Improving mental health in Australia is good for business. One publication estimated that for every dollar an employer puts into improving the mental health of their employees, they can expect a return of $2.30. That’s a 230% return on investment, which is huge. Improving the mental health of employees can mean less sick days, more engagement, and higher productivity for businesses.

Not happy with my birds at the moment. I went to water my plants and found all of the leaves chewed off my chilli plants and my parsley dug up :( Not sure if it was chickens or peacock.

Either´s possible, I guess, both kinds of birds are happy scratching up All The Things. Eating chili leaves though? That´s a new one for me :D

Today’s target is 166 push-ups. This represents up to 16.6% of Australian mothers who will experience post-natal depression. That’s one in six. Symptoms of post-natal depression can include feeling overwhelmed or scared, getting unusually irritable, blaming yourself excessively, and not feeling able to look forward to things. Post-natal depression is also common in men - up to one in ten will experience it.

Need to head into the gym tonight for rehab exercises again. Also had to report my food for yesterday on the reporting page for the protein study, felt it was not very accurate, especially when I am used to measuring and weighing everything. Food reporting is 3 random days over a 2 week period

I get an email asking for the details of the previous days food, I have had 1, first day of study, 2 to go.

the study is looking at protein intake.

the clinic session fits in nicely before I have a lecture.

Thanks! for the info and the chance to see the flyer. I hope there's a good outcome for the researcher as well as participants. :)

It is good to get involved with the research of fellow students, they get data for their study and I get to see how they run and set up their studies before it is becomes time to do one myself at the end of my degree

good gym session tonight for rehab, rebuilding back strength nicely

seated rows @75 kg (165 lb)
Lat Pulldowns @ 40 kg (88 lb)
Bow Pulls @ 30 kg (66 lb)
Bent over DB row @ 37.5 kg (83 lb) moving up to 42.5 was too much of a stretch with good form after 6 sets

not eating at the moment, bad gastro, nothing quite like it coming out both ends at the same time in the middle of the night. Everybody in the house has had it, hubby has gone into the hospital so bub can see a doctor, nothing else available at almost midnight.

Urgh, I hope you all get well soon but most of all bub!

feeling a bit better today, liquids only so far, need to go cook after I post. Completed today's push-ups and caught up on missing push-ups (push-ups and gastro do not mix lol)

First day of lectures and tutes at uni went well. extensive coaching background made it a lot easier. spent time doing anthropomorphic measurements and had to coach an assigned skill in front of 30 or so students as part of a group of 3, It was good I got a skill (squat) that I have spent many hours coaching as the others in the group were not keen on coaching a skill after only 5 minutes notice and had no idea how to explain how to squat or give cues. nothing quite like getting thrown in the deep end lol.

As a bonus I was still going strong after my 10 push-ups in class unlike most of the youngsters
