Lean and toned

You all know Bruce Lee was ripped to **** but not very big. How would one attain such a body? I heard lighter weights but more reps like 12 x 5.
 
No matter where I look I'm always told eating health and cardio wont give you muscle. ;) Hence why I'm asking about the weights side.
 
No it wont "give you muscle" it will lower your BF% so that your muscles are more visible. You said how Bruce Lee wasn't huge but toned, I answered your question.
 
There is no rep scheme to get you ripped. He did answer your Q.

General Rep Rules:
<6 Strength/Power (depending on speed)
8-12 Hypertrophy
>12 Muscular Endurance

I would suggest the hypertrophy route, until you get a big as you want, maybe a little bigger (you'll lose a little size when you cut). Then diet until you reach your desired bf%.
