Laura's Diary - Slim for good!

Heya everybody,

This summer I decided I had enough of being chubby and was determined to go into my years of sixth form slimmer and a new me. Well the beginning of sixth form came and I was half way to my goal, I had dropped a clothes size in my tops and was feeling great. But sixth form came, and the excitement of being able to eat out at lunch has led to me almost putting all the weight I lost over the summer back on.

Over the summer I was running everyday and it was helping me stay thin but now that English winters have started, there is no time I can run given that when I get home from school it is pitch black outside. Next summer I am going on an expedition to Mexico where I will be treking in the mountains as one phase of my trip and I need to get in shape for that.

My first goal is to stop the cycle of binging on junk food I have recently got into and get back into drinking water and eating healthily. I have also recently taken up ice skating so I get some more exercise. I am a lifeguard so I do have swim training for that but given that I have free membership to a pool and gym I do not go as often as I should. After Christmas I am planning to take up a circuit training class with two of my friends to help me get into shape as well so will do better on the exercise front. As for motivation, I am going to Cuba on the 27th of December so me in a bikini on the beach is pretty powerful.

My goals:
Lose 24lbs
Eat healthily
Drink at least 1.5 litres of water a day
Exercise at least 3 times a week

I am determined to lose the weight and keep it off this time, I felt so much better when I was slim and am desperate to be that way again. I can see the weight creeping back on and am determined not to let that happen!

Thanks for the support everybody I appreciate it! I know i am increadibly lucky with the places I am going to visit and I can't wait to go!

Have had a good first day! Tuesday is normally the worst day of the week for me as I meet up in town with all my friends and we normally end up sitting in Starbucks and chatting for lunch. Well today instead of the usual fat filled drink and cake I had a cup of coffee, no cream or other rubbish that go into most of their drinks! I was so pleased with myself and I now feel I can go in and resist temptation.

Have an hour ice skating tommorow so will get my exercise! I can't wait I love ice skating it is so much fun!

wow, sounds like fun! I used to love to rollerskate!

Thats a great way to get in your excersize and burn those cals!!

Have a gr8 time rollerskating I used to love
that,I tried at my nephews birthday party last year and I looked
like an 90 year old drunk on wheels lol I went less than 1 mile per
hour and used more muscles to keep from falling than actual skating
did I mention couldn't walk very well the next day,so great exersice for
the cordnated! Have a gr8 night,Tammy
 
Have had an awful day...the only saving grace is that had an hour of ice skating today so dont feel as bad as it could be. Have joined a challenge, wooo Mistletoe, so am determined to lose 10lbs! Am getting ready to start exercising and eating properly tommorow, getting the rubbish out the house! Hope everyone is having a good day! Laura x
 
Getting all the bad stuff out of the house and out of reach helps a lot :) You're much less tempted to binge that way!

Have had a bad couple of days everybody...Have just about eaten my weight in chocolate. I had a bit of a revalation whilst sitting eating a bar of chocolate, I felt sick and yet I carried on stuffing my face. SO I have thrown out that half eaten bar of chocolate and am going to start my healthy eating now...not tommorow like I always say, then stuff my face before starting the next day, I have started again now...Dont want to let the team down. I am going to be slimmer at Christmas and look fabulous in a bikini!

It's okay to do badly once in a while, just as long as you don't beat yourself up about it, and do what you just did. Throw it away and start thinking positvely again so that you can get back on track! Great job!
 
Hey mate thought I would drop in and see how you were doing, good on you for throwing the chocolate away and starting again now.
 
Keep up the good work. I know how it feels to eat something when inside you're telling yourself to stop...also, "I'll start over tomorrow" then stuffing everything you know you shouldn't eat before tomorrow begins. UUGGHH! I did that, too, the other day, but decided to start new THEN, not tomorrow. It's a great step!!! We can do it...ONE STEP AT A TIME...

Since my stumble on Saturday have been having a much better couple of days! Am hoping to carry on this sucessful streak for a while longer yet! Will have a challenging day tommorow is one of my best friends birthdays and she is bringing in chocolate cake, so will have to see if I am able to resist!

Why resist Hun? Just have a small piece. We have to learn that all things in moderation are ok, if you keep telling yourself you CANT have things you will always fall off the wagon. Be prepared though if you feel like more have your trusty bottle of water at the ready to stop the craving and don’t forget to saver the flavour. Take the time to taste it.
 
Hey everyone,
Well gave into the cake but i felt it later, even though i had one slice, i felt sick for the rest of the day it was just too rich. Haven't been eating too great but went for an hour of ice skating today so probably burnt off my worse choices for today. Tis my birthday tommorow so am v excited but i will not go crazy and binge, that is my aim!
