Dont eat? Thats about all that can be said. Otherwise plan an after supper meal.

my biggest problem with my weight loss is the cravings that come at night time...i'm sure a lot of you have this problem...i'll be completely on track calorie wise all day and then before bed i'll lose my will power and grab chocolate, crackers, yogurt, etc. and before i know it i've eaten 500 calories and blown the day...
what do you guys to do counter those cravings? sometimes i try drinking water instead, but i live in a cold climate and i'd rather have something warm and comforting! lol...i get cold easily hehe
I struggled with this myself, especially at the beginning of my weight loss journey.
#1. I planned a evening snack in my mean plan. Usually a sugar free pudding with lite cool whip, or a "Skinny Cow" ice cream- both these things fulfilled my chocolate fix and have protein to fill ya up.
#2. Often times, I WANTED a snack out of habit, not hunger. Getting thru the first few weeks trying to understand true hunger from habit took some effort, but now I generally only eat a snack after dinner if I'm truly hungry, except for Thursday nights I usually have air popped popcorn to eat while "my shows" are on.
One day at a time dear, and new healthier habits will form. And allow yourself a treat when needed- just be sure to COUNT it.
Good Luck!
there are a bunch of threads here on the eating after xx hour subject -and the bottom line is - it's the total amount of calories consumed in the day that matters - not when you have them...Most people say that you you shouldn't eat anything after 6pm. But maybe that is just not true and I don't have to go to bed when the small apetite comes up and I can just grap a pudding like you do!![]()

And do you keep on losing weight although you are eating a sugar free pudding withlite cool whip in the evening?
See, I wouldn't lose any weight with that method, because there would be no way for me to stick with it. Some days, I don't have half my calories for the day in by 6pm. Which is fine, because I have another 5 hours to eat them.
It's always a good night for me when I have calories / macronutrient ratio left for some oatmeal with pear as a late-night snack. Tonight will be a good night.![]()
So far so good! I think I'm slower than most, but it IS coming off and it will stay that way as this is not a diet, but a way of life for me. FYI- the total calories in that snack are @70calories.
If you're a popcorn lover
I picked up some of the white cheddar flavor today. I haven't tried it on food yet, but I did stick my finger in the bottle to sample it and thought it was pretty darn good.I have an popcorn pumper for air popping. I use spray butter and there is a brand of seasonings called Kernel Seasonings with a large variety for flavors-
I have at least 3 in my cabinet right now: Ranch, Parmesan Garlic, White Cheddar. So good, and virtually no calories. YUMMY!
I'm guessing they have enough sodium to kill a horse...

Probably this would be a great evening snack! You can eat whenever you want- it's total calories in for the day that count not when you ate them. I'm a late night snacker so I always leave myself around 400 cals to play with at night , otherwise I tend to go over.
