Honeychild, I only have 3 pounds to go too! I'm so excited that I'm this close, but it makes it harder to stick to this diet when I'm so close. Plus I think I'm hitting a plateau right now. :( I woke up on Wed. morning weighing 118, but yesterday I weighed in at 118.5. This morning I'm back down to 118, though. It's so discouraging when that happens after the pounds were just flying off the week before. I was really hoping I'd be done with this diet by next Wednesday, but I don't see that happening since I still have 3 pounds to go. I highly doubt I'll be losing 3 between now and then.

Motsy - I totally feel ya, I've been at 115 for the last few weeks, I finally am down to 114. It seems like the closer you get the harder it is to get the pounds off isn't it?? Your doing so well though, we're so close!!! Just keep at it and we'll get there! What are your eating habits like right now? Maybe you just need to change it up a bit? Ugh what do i know i'm in the same freakin boat. LOL.

cheers

Great job Amomono!

OK..So apparently I was mistaken, and I'm doing better than I thought I was. Sometimes my scale looks like it says one thing, but it really says something else. It's like the numbers are messed up sometimes. So my real weight is 117.5 now. YAY! Of course I'd love to be 115 so this whole thing would be over, but I'm glad to be where I am not at least! So that means 2.5 pounds to go! Whoo hoo! Tonight I'm going to have a burger for dinner (with only 3% fat so it's not TOO bad) so I've had very few calories so far today to save them up for tonight. haha. My husband and I are babysitting tonight, and we're grilling burgers for them. Normally I eat chicken or something, Honeychild. On a normal day I have some low-cal. cereal for breakfast. For lunch, I always have a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread, and then chicken for dinner with sweet potatoes and veggies or something like that. I also have about 2 snack a day. I never go longer than 3 hours without eating something so I can keep my metabolism going. What are you doing about eating and exercising?

Great job, amomono! Aren't you glad TOM is leaving you now, and you can start focusing on weightloss instead of TOM? Mine is coming in about a week. UGH! I hate it!

Wow motsy your so close! So happy for you!! It's the best feeling when that damn scale moves!

My eating is low carb, not no carb, just low carb. LOL. for breakfast I usually eat just a small snack, cheese, a danone mousse and tons of water, I have 2 kids to get off to daycare before I start work at 8:30am so it's kind of hectic in the am. Lunch I'll usually eat a salad with meat in it, I love chicken ceasar salads. I drink tons of water per day like seriously an outrageous amount.

Dinner I will usually eat, fish, chicken stuff like that with salads, or veggies.

My exercise isn't very good, I get on the stationary bike for a few minutes but with helping with homework, lunches for the kids school, dinner, kids ballet, soccer etc I don't get alot of time for that. I do walk alot though.
So... hopefully that's enough! LOL

cheers

Well, I was working out a lot myself (before I worked out everyday for 2 weeks straight), but now I'm kind of in a slump, but the pounds are still coming off just as easily so I haven't felt too much of a need to start again. haha. That's not a good way to think, but I'm getting less and less motivated to do the right things since I only have a few more pounds to go. I did go to Six Flags yesterday, though, and so I walked the entire day!! From 10:30 am-8 pm. haha. So I guess I did good with that. I think one of the 1st things I'm going to eat when I get off this diet is a chicken caesar salad from Carrabba's. I love their chicken caesar salads!

When do you think you'll be done with your weightloss for good? I guess determine based on how quickly you've been losing weight so far.

Six flags walking all day totally counts!

Yea me too i love chicken ceasar salad, I just don't put croutons in and not as much dressing and with the chicken it fills me up. I also love Greek Salad, thank goodness I like salads.

I don't know when I'll hit my goal, i'm hoping within the next couple of weeks, i only have 2 more to go so... we'll see, what about you?

Motsy, you are almost there!!!! What are you going to do for maintaining? I recommend you take a look at Somersizing bc w/that I don't have to count calories or eat low fat...in fact fat is encouraged, and it's not like Atkins, you can have carbs, fruits, veggis...it's just based around a healthy real food diet. It's really interesting, just a suggestion though. I'm a walking, talking, *skinny advertisement aren't I?

Quebonita, I don't know anything about somersizing! Can you tell me a little about it or send me a website that I should go to visit to find out a little more about it. What I was planning on doing to maintain was to continue to watch my portions, drink lots of water still, watch sodium intake, and if I eat something that's really unhealthy (like sweets, fastfood, whatever) do something to make up for it like eat very healthy the next day or two. Also I was going to continue to try to work out more, but it's so hard to find the time sometimes. So if you could give me some insight in somersizing I'd appreciate it!!

I plan on doing exactly what I'm doing now, I don't consider this a diet, it's a lifestyle change, if i go back to the way I was eating I will only gain it back. A healthier outlook is my moto. Walk more, run up the stairs more, park farther away so i have farther to walk, any little bit helps.

Yeah, I just noticed that you had said that you can't wait for the diet to be over. That concerned me bc we all shouldn't be just dieting but making a change that we can live with for the rest of our lives!!!

There is a website with tons of information and discussion boards, it's worth a look if you're bored. I love it! Just click on community and then discussion forum or testimonials, whatever you would like to see. The girls there are all great, if you have any questions they help you out in a second. Let me know if you want a rundown on it...it takes a bit to explain but it's no prob.

I too am planning on just sticking with things and not really going back to my lifestyle before... I don't really feel like I have given alot of things up - I have found a way to make them still a part of my life (like ice cream... substituting for frozen yogurt is awesome, and still so tasty)... I put less cheese on things to save on the extra fat, but i have always enjoyed veggies and fruit and lean meats - i just didn't have the time/energy/money to eat them all the time before... but now that i buy seasonal produce, eat less ramen noodles & mac n cheese, i'm much better!

Quebonita, well of course I'm ready for the diet to be over because I'm a very motivated person and quite a perfectionist. I've been dieting for over a month now, and I haven't cheated or had anything unhealthy once. I'm ready to be able to eat things sometimes that are less healthy (like desserts when we have guests). I don't plan on going back to what I was doing before, but I'm also not going to keep myself from still being able to enjoy some foods. I've dieted before over a year ago, and I lost almost 20 pounds. I hated the dieting part of it, and once I got off I still allowed myself to eat what I wanted, but I was careful about portion sizes and used more low-fat things. I never gained back even 1/2 a pound of the weight. I know how to maintain what I lose without completely giving up all foods. It's all about portions and doing it in moderation.

:D I second that Motsy...the whole reason I started this was in the hope that one day I could have the odd treat and not feel like I was breaking any unwritten rules...lol:D

My eating was not that bad to start with, just really out of whack, this lifestyle change has helped get things back in balance and helped me see how much my snacking had unbalanced my overall pretty good diet. This has also allowed me to address my exercise, because even though I used to run 4 -6 times a week I never did anything different and my body had adapted to this...changing it up and alternating with different types of exercises has really helped and is something I will stick with strongly.

:D :D

Oh, haha! I saw your comment and thought "Oh no! She's going to go right off her diet and gain it all back!" I guess I wasn't thinking really!!! That's how it's going to be for me too...just a healthy eating style with a few cheats here and there. Sorry I misinterpretated! I agree, once we're down to our goal weights we'll be able to maintain without much problem! I can't wait either!

I can see how you misinterpreted it, QueBonita! But don't worry - I wouldn't dare go through all this work only to mess it up by gaining it all back! haha. I absolutely HATE dieting so I know not to do something to make me have to do it again. I'm one of those people who has a huge appreciation for good food, and I cook all the time (if I worked and hadn't of gone to college already I probably would have gone to culinary school - haha) so dieting is harder for me at times than I think for others. Plus I have a gift I guess you could say for hospitality so I kind of go all out when company comes over, and some are coming over tonight - AHHHH! That means I'll be making a dessert too so pray I'm good! The meal I'm making isn't bad for my diet. In fact, it's pretty good, but that dessert is NOT good for it. haha.

Plus I woke up discouraged this morning because I'm back at 118. I'm really debating whether I should quit the diet now. I'm 5'6 so there's nothing wrong with weighing 118 at all, but there's also nothing wrong with weighing 115. UGH! What should I do? I'm so weak!

lol =) i know that you feel this HUGE obligation to meet your goal... i would say stick with it - but perhaps switch into maintenence mode... if you find yourself gaining a half a pound here or there, then just cut out the treats again... it seems that's all you really are going to add back in.

Keep up your exercise =) it's so good for you!!!

Yeah, I think I might switch to maintenance mode, but I'm not 100% sure yet. That's the way I was plannig on doing it too. If I see that I'm gaining then I'll watch what I eat for a day or so until I'm back to my current weight, but I'm still not sure yet. I just know that 3 pounds isn't going to be a noticeable difference so it seems somewhat pointless, but I did set a goal so I'm torn. Oh, what do I do? haha.

OK..So I guess I decided to quit the diet today (or at least just for today) because I ate pretty badly. haha. For lunch my husband and I went to eat Mexican only because I knew I was going to be eating dessert after dinner. I know I shouldn't have justified eating badly for lunch that way, but I couldn't help myself. haha. So Mexican for lunch, and fired up peaches and cream for dessert after dinner (dinner wasn't bad). The fired up peaches and cream had ice cream with it too. Oh well! Tomorrow starts vacation Bible school for my church, and I'm teaching the 5th-6th graders so I have to eat what they're serving which isn't good for my diet either so I know I'll be good all day except for that. I have VBS all week so I'll be eating some pretty unhealthy dinners. I guess I'll have to see what I weigh after that to figure out whether I continue the diet or not.

i had a crappy eating day today too!!! (including half a pizza!) but it's done and gone and tomorrow is a new day and i'm going to do better!!!!!
