Last 10-15 lbs Club...

WOW - i hadn't realized that i really do need to up my calories - although I have kind of unintentionally b/c i find sticking to 1200 to be really hard... I have been shooting for 1350 - but tend to be around 1400... so i'm really not doing too bad.

Which is probably why I have been maintaining for such a long time - even though I haven't been exercising or watching what I eat. I am in some familiar patterns, and in the past 5 mo. or so have only gained 5 lbs or so by not watching what I eat and not exercising. So i'm convinced that if i can get these last pounds off and keep the exercise going, i'll be fine!

getting there is the hard part. I'm doing okay so far today.. although i had pizza for lunch... i was so worried i would go over my fat cals for the day- but luckily i'm still good... I have figured out some great substitutions that make a huge difference... like turkey pepperoni instead of regular... or turkey sausage instead of regular (with dinner for instance tonight). or the smartdogs instead of hotdogs...

It has helped me to eat things i normally would, but in a "better for me" kind of way.
 
Well, my wonderful husband took me shopping tonight out of town so I went ahead and bought some new clothes for my new size - size 2! Whoo hoo! Plus I had my bra size measured, and I basically have no breasts anymore. I don't know about you ladies, but they're practically gone. haha. I'm happy that they're smaller because I was a 34C, and I hated being even that big. I don't know why, but I think it's because not a single female in my family has breasts so mine kind of stood out. So I'm happy to say that I'm inbetween a A and B cup. I don't know why, but my breasts have probably lost more weight on this diet than anything else! The new clothes have really encouraged me to keep going on the diet even though I only have 3.5 lb. to go. I weighed in at 118.5 this morning, and I'm so excited about weighing in tomorrow. So I weighed in this morning, and I'm 118 now! YAY! I wish I knew why the pounds are just flying off now because this is the 1st time since I started dieting that they've come off this fast. I lost 3 lbs. just in this past week, and I think that's pretty good considering the fact that I don't have much more to lose anyway. I really hope the rest of you are doing well. How much do each of you have left to lose now?
 
I have 13 lbs... and i haven't seen anything come off the scale since last friday - but I am also dealing with that time of the month, and I always have more water weight now... we'll get a better picture of whether or not my new plans are working next week =)
 
Oh, I hate TOM! I always stay the same weight for days and days at least until it passes, but once it does I lose the weight really quickly. I'm sure once you're done with it those pounds will start flying off. When are you done?
 
Wow, this is the place for me! How great! We all have the same problems. Well, I think mine has to do with my random binges but I'm really going to stick to this. I joined the challenge that starts tomorrow morning to lose 10 (although I don't need to lost 10) by June 31st. I really only have 5-8 lbs to lose, but, like the rest of you they just aren't coming off. I know it's slower losing the last few so this will be good to discuss/motivate eachother. I also am more concerned about toning than losing weight per-say. I have a little chub on my sides and a bit on my stomach so I do want that gone but I'm really going for the toned, tight bod! Glad to find people with the same issues as me...we are cracking down together!
 
I definitely know where you're coming from QueBonita! I have some chub on my sides, and I could definitely stand to lose some weight on my stomach in general. However, I think my biggest problem areas are my legs, butt, and hips. Any idea how to help that?? haha. I have absolutely not top now - a lot of extra smalls are too big now. I don't know my body decided to lose all the weight in my upper body, but it seems like I've barely lost anything in my lower body. UGH! How frustrating! How tall are you?
 
Haha, Motsy I had no top to begin with! I posted a list of my intended exercises/diet in the exercise forum so hopefully I'll get some reponses from personal trainers. Maybe w/ that we can have a good workout!

It really is just this light layer of fat that I need to lose. My thighs have gotten bigger and my butt as well (I gained 20 lbs and lost 15) but it could still be muscle.

I'll post the input that I get!
What kind of a diet do you eat?
 
Well, I mainly just eat healthy. I eat a low-cal cereal in the morning at about 9 am. For lunch, I usually have a turkey sandwich on whole-wheat bread. For dinner, I usually have some kind of chicken (grilled, baked, etc.) with veggies and a potato or something. I also try to not go any longer than 3 hours before I eat something even if it's just a piece of fruit. I absolutely LOVE yogurt so it's usually some yogurt I eat for a snack. So I guess in a way I'm doing the 3-hour diet since I eat every 3 hours, but I don't follow their plan by the foods I eat. I haven't been exercising lately, though, but it seems like doing that has made my weightloss speed up. Maybe it's a coincidence, though. Please let me know what people suggest to you to for working out! I'm just way too anxious to be done with this that I don't know how much longer I'll make it. haha!
 
I know the feeling! I just want the rest to be gone! I'm a Somersizer (Suzanne Somer's WOE) by the way...trust me, not missing out too bad on the food dept. over here! : )
 
my diet has been mostly just watching what I eat... I try to stick between 1200 and 1400 calories and keep my fat calories under 300... I too need snacks to keep my metabolism up - usually a piece of fruit (although I have been really bad with eating good snacks lately...)

At my lowest weight last fall I was at 132, which was awesome... but my boobs shrunk like no other!!! I was doing alot of weights and upper body and I definately lost it all there first... but in the 5-7 lbs i gained back since then I have regained some of my chest... I'm actually hoping that if i focus less on toning those muscles that I will not lose it as much - but you really can't spot reduce and where it comes off it does!

I also have problems with the tummy and hips/thighs/butt area... I have started doing squats and lunges and crunches every day to help tone those areas, but until the layer of fat comes off - it won't matter much...

If i didn't lose another pound but could lose that layer - I would be one happy camper!

I'm 5'4" by the way...
 
Hello--I'm new here. Great idea. I have about 5 to go. In the past 14 months I have lost 35-40. Everyone keeps telling me I am getting "too skinny". Frankly I am tired of hearing that. I have been stuck at 135lbs FOREVER! I am working out an hour a day (started that a week ago) I thought if I bumped up my workout I would surely loose--still nothing! I really want to get to 130--any suggestions?:) :D
 
congrats! you and i are in about the same spot (well, losing wise... i want to get a bit farther, but 130 would be fine with me too!!!)

Just give it time with your workout... maybe try shaking things up with your diet as well... are you doing weights or cardio? you might need to add protein or carbs depending so that you have the right sources of energy to use up and burn... (i don't know enough about nutrition to tell you exactly which for what and how much - i just know it matters!) Someone in the "weightloss for exercise" thread can definately help answer it though...

I agree, you don't see any abs until the last layer of fat is gone...but just remember it's so good to work the abs bc when the layer is gone (and it will be gone) you'll already have nice abs and you wont need to work them as much!
 
alright... i'm still sticking with it. I'm having a great healthy lunch, and got my snacks in just right... and my exercise in already...

I'm one of those people who flush really fast - whether i'm drinking alcohol, or working out, or get embarrassed, my face turns beet red immediately... so i have really really bright red cheeks still from my run an hour and half ago... *sigh* oh well =)

I'm the same way! I flush really easily!! If I drink red wine I flush really fast, sometimes I hate it.

I haven't been on for a while but I had to respond to a few things.

Someone was asking if we were waiting to buy clothes... I bought new jeans at about 118 lbs because my other ones were falling off me, so i spent 200 dollars on 2 pairs of new jeans, and I also bought a bunch of new tops and 3 pairs of shoes, got my hair coloured I figured I deserved it. LOL.

I have about 3 lbs more to go, but I think my TOM is coming i feel bloated and cranky today.

Oh and yea my boobs have totally shrunk. I was never huge but now they're pretty small, oh well...

Honeychild, I only have 3 pounds to go too! I'm so excited that I'm this close, but it makes it harder to stick to this diet when I'm so close. Plus I think I'm hitting a plateau right now. :( I woke up on Wed. morning weighing 118, but yesterday I weighed in at 118.5. This morning I'm back down to 118, though. It's so discouraging when that happens after the pounds were just flying off the week before. I was really hoping I'd be done with this diet by next Wednesday, but I don't see that happening since I still have 3 pounds to go. I highly doubt I'll be losing 3 between now and then.
