Well I am 26 with three children. I am a full time student starting my master's program next sememster.... My husband is going to be deployed to Iraq in three short months and he will be gone for 14 months. I had a tubal ligation about a year ago after having my son and I had been having a lot of comlications such as severe cramping, pain flow cycle, mood swings that are unreal, it has been insane. About a month ago I also got pregnant and lost the baby ast week. I am trying to get a reversal because this has been aweful, but the military will only do it if I am at an ideal weight which is 150 for me...I got on the scale today and I am 216. I have had an sweful time trying to lose weight I even paid a fortune and did the LA weightloss....all they want is their commission, it is insane, but now I need to do i for me and my sanity, I cannot be going crazy like this. I do not have any support where I am at, I know hardly anyone, so I am hoping this might help?? You never know.

Welcome Kristen!

I think you will find that this is a very supportive forum. We are all here for the same purpose and to support each other.

There is lots of information in the forum, so take some time and read a bunch of stuff. There are also lots of great resources on the web for nutrition and exercise.

Good luck!

I'm glad to see you've started a diary Kristen. Welcome here!

First of all, have you checked back on your introduction thread? M2M posted some links of some free, awesome sites. If you find out how many calories you should be eating, and start keeping track, it is most definitely possible to lose weight without spending the money on those plans.

I have noticed that of the people that post here, the ones that stick around, post often, update their progress, and keep track of their calories, are the ones that consistently lose. :)

Hey there!

This is a great place for support. I am 26 as well and my starting weight was 202. In the past, I'd start a diet and once I hit the first rough patch I'd give up. Then the feelings of failure. .and hopelessness.

This site has helped me stick with it. I find a little time to post everyday. If things are going well, I post. If things are going poorly, I post. It has been very helpful to have support of people who understand.

Another useful tool for me is

It's free and easy. It gives me a goal for my calories and my exercise.

Oh, sweetie, I'm sorry you're going through such a difficult time right now! *HUGGLES*

I'm a military wife, too, and my husband's set to leave for 6mos in about 2wks. I know how difficult it is to be all alone w/ one child let alone three. I've also lost a baby before, so my heart goes out to you w/ all you have to endure.

Losing weight IS a huge struggle, especially for those of us who have more than 5 or 10lbs to lose (like you and me), but I think if we believe in ourselves and continue to support each other, it makes the journey a lil' more bearable and sometimes even exciting. I know we can do it!

Good luck to us both, and I hope you feel better soon :)...
