well My name is shey and I am going to start a weight loss journal. Feel free to leave comments if you like.

I am currently 265 pounds and I am looking to reach my goal weight of 150. I am a university student and I am 23 years old. I have been working on my weight loss for about 3 weeks now and I have lost 10 pounds already.
I was not keeping track of my eating but I am now using fitday to calculate how many calories I am consuming on a daily basis.
workouts usually consist of intervals on an elliptical trainer for 45 minutes and every other day weight training.

So today so far I have eaten
Breakfast: 1 cup of shreddies with a half cup of 1% milk and a banada
Lunch: canned salmon with 1 tablespoon of lite miracle whip and 2 slices of whole wheat toast
supper I plan on having
7oz new york steak
onions+ mushrooms
boiled carrots and corn
and an apple sauce cup for desert
 
how good is an elliptical trainer? While you are doing cardio what are you doing for strength training?

well i think the elliptical trainer is working good for me... is low impact and easier for me than say running on a treadmill and I am still burning a tone of calories and sweating alot which I think is a good thing. I am just using some of the weight machines the gym provides for strength training. But I don't know what they are called
