Kim's Weight Loss Journey

Here is the start of my weight loss journey that will actually get to a destination. My current weight is 195 pounds and I want to lose 45 pounds. I don't have an end date just want to get there. My short term goal is 175 by August 11 (graduation) and maybe 165 by my birthday (December 28th). I used to be a member of weight watcher for about 2 months last year but decided that it was not worth my $40 a month. However, I did like the point system and created my own Excel sheet with graphs and a calculator and food diary to keep up with what I eat and the points I consume. When I started weight watchers I was around the same weight and I was allotted 25 daily points with the 35 weekly points. I figured I would try to stick with that until I stop losing and then I would reduce my points by 2 until I reach my goal. I have started walking for 30 minutes during my lunch break everyday and two of those days I also go to our school recreation center and maybe do the elliptical for 30 and walk for 20. I strength train with resistance bands about 2-3 days a week. The weekend may serve as an exercise rest period or I may try to get 30 minutes in on Saturday. I feel confident about this system. My biggest problem is consistency and not overdoing it on the weekend. I really want to work on it. So today is day 2 of this plan.

Well the weekend is over and I kind of "bummed" it. I planned the weekend good but I didn't follow through. I went to the lake with the family and I planned on two fat free hotdogs with regular buns, fruit, 1 serving of cookies (2 cookies), diet soda and water. Well I know cookies, chips and other junk food trigger my cravings for more junk food but I thought since I planned I wouldn't succumb. Well, 2 cookies lead to 9 cookies and I just felt I have blew it. For dinner was the left over sausage (that I vowed I would stay away from because of the saturated fat and high calorie content) but I ate one since I had already eaten 9 cookies. Sunday, I didn't even care. More sausages and chips. However, I did make myself stay away from the cookies but the chips caused the same reaction. Live and learn and vow to do better next weekend. I also have a problem with getting atleast 8 glasses of water on the weekend. During the week while at work, I have no problem getting atleast 8-10 but weekends are usually terrible. That is my first goal: Get through a weekend without throwing all my convictions out the window. Atleast I worked out saturday.
